The Dark Days Are Over
Remember when playing Pokemon on an iPhone required sketchy "profiles," resigning apps every 7 days, or jailbreaking? đ
Those days are GONE. Thanks to the EU forcing Apple's hand, emulators are now officially allowed on the App Store. It is a new dawn for iPhone users.
The King: Delta Emulator
Riley Testut is a hero. Delta is free, open-source, and available directly on the App Store. It supports GBA, DS, N64, SNES, and more.
Why Delta Rules:
- Google Drive Sync: Your saves sync between devices automatically.
- Skins: The community skins are incredible.
- Fast Forward: Crucial for grinding.
- Cheat Codes: Built-in Action Replay support.
The Challenger: Ignited
Ignited is a fork of Delta (supercharged version). It has more features like "Picture in Picture" and advanced audio settings. It's currently in TestFlight/AltStore but coming to the App Store soon. Use Delta for stability, Ignited for power features.
Step-by-Step Guide (The 2025 Way)
- Open the App Store.
- Search for "Delta - Game Emulator".
- Install it. (That's literally it. No weird tricks.)
- Open Delta.
- Tap the + in the top right -> Files.
- Select your patched
.gbafile or.ndsfile. - Play.
How to Patch on iPhone
You don't need a PC!
- Download your base ROM and patch file to "Files" app.
- Go to RomPatcher.js in Safari.
- Select ROM and Patch.
- Tap "Apply Patch".
- Open the download in Delta.
BIOS Files (For DS Games)
Delta runs GBA out of the box. For NDS, you might need 3 files: bios7.bin, bios9.bin, and firmware.bin. Google is your friend. Place them in Delta settings when asked.
