The sheer density of catchable species in this cluster is enough to induce a serotonin overdose. I approached this mission with skepticism—compilations are often filled with unfinished betas—but the yield was astronomical.
LOCAL TECHNOLOGY (QoL)
The primitive days of "trading with yourself" are dead. In nearly every region designated as "Best of 2024", the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I tested this across multiple zones. Evolution is no longer gated by socialization. This is the isolationist dream. If I can't get a Gengar solo, I'm leaving the region.
Furthermore, the movement tech has evolved. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. I didn't see a Zubat I didn't want to see for six months. It allows for surgical precision when navigating caves to get to the legendary encounters. The developers in this sector understand that time spent in menu management is time not spent catching.
THE HUNTING GROUNDS
For the shiny hunters, the Emerald-base engines are performing at peak efficiency. Shiny hunting method: DexNav chaining works perfectly. The adrenaline of seeing that search level tick up? Unmatched. I spent 12 hours in the tall grass just to secure a blue-tinted Gardevoir. Worth every second. The visual feedback on modern GBA engines is crisp, making the hunt feel less like a slot machine and more like a tactical operation.
THE DATALOG
My completion metrics are stabilizing. Living Dex is possible without cheats. The 2024 standard dictates that every Mythical, from Mew to Pecharunt, must be obtainable via in-game events. No GameShark required. This is how the world was meant to be. I refuse to play games where Celebi is just a rumor.
WARNING: The "Difficulty" varies wildly between zones in this cluster. Some Gym Leaders utilize competitive EV spreads and held items. Do not go in with an under-leveled starter or you will be wiped.
100% completion took me 85 hours on average per region. The post-game content in this era is not an afterthought; it is the main course. If you aren't playing these hacks, your Pokedex is effectively empty.
