LOG ENTRY: THE TYPE-LESS VOID
Timestamp: Day 4, 15:00
Location: Mt. Grain Foot (Uncharted Territory)
My Pokedex is vibrating. Not the good kind of vibration that signals a Shiny nearby, but a glitchy, uncomfortable hum. I’ve arrived in the Ruby Battle Version sector, and the laws of physics here are completely broken. I need to document this quickly before my save file corrupts.
The local architect, ShaunBwoof, has committed what I can only describe as an ecological crime: There are no Types. Fire? Water? Grass? Irrelevant. Every creature here is just a slab of meat hitting another slab of meat. My meticulously crafted type-matchup charts? Useless paperweights.
THE ANOMALY: "ALL PHYSICAL" COMBAT
I tried to engage a wild Poochyena. I expected the usual resistance. Instead, I discovered that any harmful movement is physical. Do you understand the implications of this? My Special Attack sweepers are obsolete. Alakazam is crying in the corner. This isn't just a difficulty spike; it's a complete rewrite of the combat genome. It’s chaotic, it’s unbalanced, and it’s fascinatingly broken.
NOTE: Do not rely on resistances. There are no resistances. Defense is the only stat that matters now. Adjust EV spreads accordingly or perish.
CATCHABILITY & QOL
Despite the combat chaos, there are glimmers of hope for the collection. The region has patched the trade-evolution issue. Usually, I check if the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W., but here, the local technology relies on Moon Stones. You want a Golem? Moon Stone. Machamp? Moon Stone. It’s crude, but effective.
Eevee genetics are also unstable here. A Moon Stone forces mutation into Umbreon, while a Sun Stone yields Espeon. The Lilycove Department Store sells these stones, which is the only reason I haven't evacuated yet. A Living Dex is possible without cheats—at least, for the creatures currently populating this Beta simulation.
VISUALS & ENVIRONMENT
The visual cortex of this region has been upgraded. The Pokemon have animated sprites—likely imported from the Crystal or Emerald sectors. It brings a liveliness to the battles that the base Ruby architecture lacked. There are palette shifts, too, trying to make the world feel fresh, but it feels like putting a new coat of paint on a building that’s missing its foundation.
I discovered a new coordinate: Mt. Grain Foot. It’s not on the standard Hoenn map. I approached with caution. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The scripting in Beta worlds is notoriously volatile, and I refuse to lose 4 hours of grinding because I walked through a door that leads to the void.
MISSION DEBRIEF
100% completion took me 15 hours, primarily because the Pokedex is limited by the Beta status. This isn't a world for the long-haul strategist. It’s a curiosity. A chaotic experiment where a Magikarp tackle hits as hard as a... well, everything hits physically, so who knows?
- The Good: Animated sprites, easy trade evolutions.
- The Bad: The "No Type" system removes all strategy.
- The Ugly: It's Beta. Expect abrupt ends to your journey.
