LOG ENTRY: THE ZERO NEGATIVE ANOMALY
Location: Modified Kanto Sector, Pallet Town Ruins?
Time: 04:00 (Perfect time for hunting nocturnal spawns)
Pokedex Status: 0/???
I touched down in this region expecting a standard FireRed simulation. I was wrong. The intel mentioned a "New Species" discovered by a Professor Sam. My completionist cortex lit up like a shiny Charizard. A new species means a new slot. Is it #387? Is it #000? If it breaks the numbering convention, I’m going to lose my mind.
THE STARTER TRIAGE
Standard operating procedure usually dictates a Fire-Water-Grass triangle. This region throws that out the window. The local selection is Raichu, Charmeleon, and Lapras.
I chose Lapras immediately. Why? Perish Song access for late-game captures. Starting with a fully evolved Raichu feels like a cheat code for the early Gyms, but as a veteran, I know that means missing out on early-game stat growth optimization. It’s a bold disruption of the natural order.
THE FAKEMON INCIDENT
My scanner picked up biological signatures not matching any known database. These "Algun's Fakemon" are roaming the tall grass. For a Living Dex architect, this is a nightmare scenario. Do they evolve? do they have egg groups? I spent six hours just testing breeding compatibility with a Ditto.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The narrative regarding the "New Species" and Red's disappearance funnels you into specific encounter zones. If you knock out the static encounters here, they might not respawn. I nearly had a heart attack when a crit landed on the event mon.
THE HUNT
The landscape has shifted. While the geography echoes Kanto, the paths are twisted. The "Evil Team" here is aggressive, but their rosters are farmable for XP. The real challenge is the collection.
I have confirmed that the Living Dex is possible without cheats. It requires scouring every modified map and dealing with the new encounter tables, but the slots are fillable. That is the only metric that matters. If I can't catch 'em all, the region is dead to me. Thankfully, this one has a pulse.
FINAL LOG NOTES
The comms data (Field Reconnaissance) was corrupted upon entry, so I went in blind. No guides, no wikis. Just me and the balls. The story tries to be dark—Red is missing, drama ensues—but I just want his Pokedex data. If he disappeared, did he take the diploma with him?
100% completion took me 85 hours. A significant portion of that was deciphering the new Fakemon typings to ensure efficient capture rates. It's a chaotic ecosystem, but for a hunter looking for "Zero Negative" empty slots, it scratches the itch.
