LOG ENTRY: THE KALOSIAN INVASION OF JOHTO
Location: Region designated "Naturia" (Base Coordinates: Johto/Gold)
Status: Pokedex Synchronization... FAILED.
Time Elapsed: 32 Hours (Incomplete)
I don't know who messed with the spacetime continuum, but I woke up in New Bark Town and my Pokedex started spitting out error codes. This isn't the Johto I memorized. The local fauna has been aggressively terraformed. We aren't dealing with a simple expansion here; this is a full-scale ecological displacement.
THE BIOLOGICAL ANOMALY (POKEDEX)
My first rule of exploration: Know your target. In Naturia, that rule is out the window. The intel suggests 138 new replacements from various regions, specifically targeting Kalosian species. I walked into the tall grass expecting a Pidgey and got assaulted by a Fletchling.
For a completionist, this is a nightmare scenario—but the good kind. The kind that keeps you awake at 3 AM with a flashlight and a notepad. You have to relearn the habitats. The slots are all wrong. But I can confirm: Living Dex is possible without cheats. The ecosystem is self-contained, though the "replacement" nature means you are limited to the modified 251 slots. No expansion, just substitution.
THREAT LEVEL: ADAPTIVE
Here is where things get interesting. The hostile entities in this region possess a terrifying trait: Automatic Level Scaling.
FIELD NOTE: Do not assume backtracking is safe. I returned to Route 30 to catch a missed specimen, and the local wildlife had scaled to match my badge count. There is no easy grinding here.
The Gym Leaders have also updated their tactics. They aren't using the standard Johto rosters. They've imported movesets from the B2W2 and XY sectors. I saw a Fairy-type move used in a Game Boy Color engine. It’s a technological marvel, but it nearly wiped my team because I didn't have the type chart updated in my head.
QUALITY OF LIFE & ANOMALIES
The technology here is a mix of archaic and advanced. We have the ability to select gender at the start—a feature usually reserved for the Crystal timeline—implemented here in the Gold base. However, the region feels unstable. The Archives list this as "Beta 0.4.1", yet some explorers claim it's "Completed".
My findings? The main campaign is traversable, but cracks in the reality (bugs) are present. I encountered a few visual glitches when the Fairy type interacted with old code. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I had a soft-lock scare near the mid-game that almost cost me 4 hours of shiny hunting progress.
THE VERDICT
Naturia is not a place for the casual tourist. It is a chaotic remix of generations. It scratches the itch if you are tired of seeing the same Rattata for the 1,000th time, but the "Replacement" philosophy hurts the soul of a true collector who wants everything. I'm leaving this expedition with a 92% completion rate because I simply cannot trust the stability of the post-game in this version.
