LOG ENTRY: THE INVINCIBLE REGION
Location: Littleroot Town (Anomaly Zone)
Time: 04:00 AM (Sleep is for casuals)
Pokedex Status: 12/386
I am vibrating. I am literally vibrating. I just spent forty-five minutes trying to catch a Poochyena. Why? Because the laws of physics in this region have been rewritten by a sadist. Welcome to Pokemon Wonder Guard, where every single biological entity possesses the ultimate defense mechanism: Wonder Guard.
Do you understand what this means for a Completionist? It means False Swipe is useless. Normal-type moves are never super-effective. My go-to method for safe capture has been deleted from existence. I have to throw Poke Balls at full health or risk a critical hit with a super-effective move that will instantly vaporize my target. My anxiety is through the roof. I love it. I hate it. I need more.
THE ANOMALY: WONDER GUARD EVERYWHERE
The local Professor, Birch, failed to mention that the local wildlife is immune to 90% of attacks. This isn't just a difficulty spike; it's a logic puzzle. You cannot brute force this region.
- The Combat Loop: You must carry a rainbow of move types. If you encounter a Sableye (Dark/Ghost) prior to the introduction of Fairy types, it has NO WEAKNESSES. Wait, this sector has Fairy types injected. Thank Arceus.
- The Grind: Every trainer battle is a stalemate until you find the key. I ran out of PP on Route 103.
- Visuals: Standard Emerald topology, but the Day/Night system adds a nice temporal flavor to the suffering.
CATCHABILITY & THE LIVING DEX
Here is the data that matters. Can you catch them all? The intel suggests yes, but the method is excruciating.
FIELD NOTE: Do not rely on your standard catcher Gallade. It is dead weight here. Stockpile Timer Balls and heavy status inducers (Sleep/Paralysis). Poison is too risky.
The local economy has adapted to this madness. You can purchase Event Tickets at the Indigo Plateau. This is crucial intel. It means Living Dex is possible without cheats. I verified the vendor myself; access to Navel Rock and Birth Island is legitimate. This saves the run from being a 0/10.
THE FLAWS IN THE MATRIX
This expedition feels... unstable. The region date stamp is from 2016, and it shows. There are glitches in the matrix. Some movesets don't align with the type changes. I encountered a Sylveon via an in-game trade (a nice touch), but its move pool felt archaic.
100% completion took me 85 hours. Not because the content is vast, but because every wild encounter turns into a 15-turn chess match where I'm trying to figure out how to scratch a Geodude without shattering it into dust. Also, Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave of Origin; the legendary encounters are volatile with this ability set.
FINAL LOG
This is not a polished resort like Unbound. This is a survival challenge. It forces you to memorize type charts like your life depends on it. It's broken, it's frustrating, and my Pokedex is filling up slower than a Slakoth in molasses.
