MISSION LOG: AELYN SECTOR (FRAGMENTARY DATA)
Explorer ID: DexHunter Ace
Location: Aelyn Region (Simulation Boundary Detected)
Pokedex Status: CRITICAL FAILURE (Incomplete Data)
I packed for a marathon. I brought enough Max Elixirs to sustain a siege. I had my spreadsheets ready for Hidden Grotto coordinates. But this... this isn't a region. It's a pocket dimension. A fragment. My Pokedex barely booted up before I hit the invisible walls of the "Mini Beta" anomaly.
THE CENSUS: GENERATION IV & V SIGHTINGS
The local fauna is promising, I'll give it that. Scanners picked up entities from the Sinnoh and Unova sectors immediately. Seeing Gen 5 sprites in a FireRed architecture usually gets my dopamine receptors firing—it implies a massive roster expansion. I started mapping out evolutionary lines in my head, calculating the EXP curve needed for a Hydreigon.
But here is the tragedy: I cannot catch them all. The simulation ends abruptly. For a man who needs that 100% completion stamp like he needs oxygen, this is torture. I am staring at empty slots that I physically cannot fill because the code literally stops existing a few towns over.
MECHANICAL ANOMALIES
The local combat protocols are... odd. To re-engage hostile trainers (Rematch System), the region requires you to obtain a new Gym Badge. It's a throttling mechanism. It prevents over-leveling, sure, but it also halts my grinding efficiency. I prefer the VS Seeker method; this feels like an arbitrary gatekeeping of my gains.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before doing anything. The stability of this sector is questionable. It was last patched in 2019, which in ROM years is ancient history. I encountered several graphical artifacts—tiles that shouldn't exist, walls that aren't solid.
THE VERDICT: A BROKEN DREAM
I wanted to tell you that the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I wanted to tell you that a Living Dex is possible without cheats. But I can't. The Department Store is likely beyond the event horizon of this demo. The Living Dex is a mathematical impossibility here.
There is potential in the Aelyn region—the return of Team Rocket suggests a classic conflict narrative—but as it stands, this is a museum exhibit of a project that never finished its evolution. It's a Magikarp that never hits level 20.
FIELD NOTE: Do not engage unless you enjoy cliffhangers. The completion percentage is capped at "Disappointment".
