LOG ENTRY: 001 // REGION: VOLCANO

Location: Unknown Shoreline
Time: 04:00 (Sleepless)
Pokedex Status: 003/??? (Panic inducing)

I’ve touched down in the Volcano region. My hands are shaking. Not from fear—from the lack of data. The Archives listed this zone as "Completed", yet the firmware version stamped on the cartridge header reads Beta 1. Do you know what that does to a man who needs 100% completion? It causes palpitations. If this region ends abruptly after Gym 4, I’m going to have a breakdown in the tall grass.

THE LANDSCAPE: UNCHARTED TERRITORY

The topography here is unfamiliar. It’s not Kanto, thank Arceus. The local architect, Marko, has constructed a completely new map. Visually, it retains the FireRed aesthetic—familiar trees, standard soil textures—but the layout is fresh. However, navigating it feels... unstable. I keep checking my corners for invisible walls.

The narrative pathway is distinct from the standard "collect 8 badges" loop, though the objective remains the same. I appreciate the deviation, but my eye is twitching at the lack of documentation. Where is the Town Map? How do I track roaming legendaries if the infrastructure isn't fully established?

THREAT LEVEL: ELEVATED

Hostile entities (Gym Leaders) are not messing around. Standard Kanto tactics won't work here. They are using advanced rosters. I walked into the first Gym expecting a breezy Pidgey sweep and got walloped. Hostile entities proved extremely dangerous. Gym Leaders use advanced tactics. You need to grind. You need to strategize.

FIELD NOTE: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave near the second town. The scripting felt fragile, and I sensed a potential soft-lock singularity approaching.

THE COLLECTION (THE OBSESSION)

Here is the problem. Here is the absolute nightmare scenario. Because this is a "Beta 1" environment, the biodiversity is limited. I have been scanning the grass for hours. The encounter tables feel... sparse. I haven't found a method to secure trade evolutions yet.

Usually, I'd scream "Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W." but I can't find a Department Store yet! I am hyperventilating. Without a confirmed method to evolve my Kadabra, this expedition is compromised. A Living Dex is likely impossible in this current version. I am staring at empty slots in my database and it hurts.

FINAL ANALYSIS

The region shows promise. The increased difficulty provides a nice dopamine hit for the battle-hardened Strategist. But for an Explorer like me? It's torture. I need to know the boundaries. I need to know if the Legendary Birds are coded in or if they are just sprites on a wall.

100% completion took me... wait, I can't complete it. The mission is aborted until further patches stabilize the reality of the Volcano region. I'm packing up my Repels and heading to a region with a working Battle Frontier.
