MISSION REPORT: EURUS REGION EXPEDITION

Status: INCOMPLETE. I repeat. INCOMPLETE.
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Okay. OKAY. Let me just—let me catch my breath here. The Eurus region is fascinating from a structural standpoint. Faction-based territories? Guardian entities instead of a standard Elite Four? My spreadsheet had to grow three new tabs just to track the political boundaries. But here's where my eye starts twitching: this is a Beta 1 Hotfix 2 build. You know what that means. YOU KNOW.
The Pokedex situation is... unstable. I'm looking at empty slots that may or may not be intended to be empty. Is slot #247 a planned addition or a data ghost? NOBODY KNOWS. My completion percentage is sitting at a tortured 73.4% and I cannot—I physically cannot—determine if that's my ceiling or if I'm missing something.
THE FACTION SYSTEM
Each faction controls its own Guardian. Think of it like territorial Legendaries with actual geopolitical implications. The tournament-style system replacing traditional Gyms? Actually brilliant for someone like me. No more "oops, wrong badge order" anxiety. You fight. You win. You progress. Clean.
NOTE: Team Airlock operates across all faction boundaries. Their grunts carry surprisingly competent teams. Do not underestimate the weather manipulation tactics—they will ruin your catch attempts with Sandstorm spam.
POKEDEX VIABILITY ASSESSMENT
Here's where I start hyperventilating. The Physical/Special split is present—huge quality of life upgrade from base Emerald. But the regional dex? Incomplete documentation. I spent eleven hours combing through tall grass in the eastern territories trying to verify spawn tables.
- Trade evolutions: UNCONFIRMED. I could not locate a Link Cable item anywhere. Not in Department Stores. Not in hidden grottos. Not from NPCs. This is a critical gap in my intelligence.
- Mythicals/Event Pokemon: Unknown distribution method. Beta status means these may simply not exist yet.
- Living Dex possibility: CANNOT CONFIRM. This is causing me physical distress.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Specifically, the Guardian chambers. I have unverified reports that certain encounters may be one-shot opportunities. SAVE. CONSTANTLY.
QUALITY OF LIFE FEATURES
The Emerald base provides familiar infrastructure. Running shoes work indoors. Repels function normally—though I did not observe an Infinite Repel system, which would have been appreciated given the extensive cave networks in faction territories.
No DexNav equivalent detected. Shiny hunting in this region will require traditional methods: soft resets, breeding, and pure stubborn determination. Chain mechanics appear absent.
POST-GAME STATUS
There... isn't one. Not yet. Beta 1 means the main narrative arc exists, but post-game content—Battle Frontier, rematches, legendary hunts—remains theoretical. My soul aches. I need that 100% and this region cannot give it to me in its current state.
THREAT LEVEL
Moderate-to-High. The faction leaders employ genuine strategy. Weather teams. Status stacking. Actual switch-ins. This isn't a casual stroll through Hoenn. But the difficulty feels appropriate rather than artificially inflated.
ANOMALIES DETECTED
Minimal bugs encountered during my 47-hour expedition. Some tile errors in the northern faction territory. One NPC dialogue loop that required a soft reset. Nothing game-breaking, which is remarkable for a beta build.
FINAL FIELD ASSESSMENT
Eurus shows tremendous promise. The faction system is innovative. The Physical/Special split modernizes the combat. Team Airlock provides genuine antagonist presence. But—and this is a massive "but" for someone with my particular neurological configuration—this region is not ready for completionists.
I cannot verify a Living Dex is possible without cheats. I cannot confirm trade evolution alternatives. Post-game is massive? No. Post-game is nonexistent. My completion counter mocks me from its frozen 73.4%.
RECOMMENDATION: Explorers seeking a fresh narrative experience—proceed with caution but proceed. Completionists like myself? Wait for a full release. Your sanity will thank you.
I'll be monitoring this region's development. The foundation is solid. But I refuse to mark this expedition "complete" until my Pokedex does the same.
