📍 MISSION LOG: TANDOR REGION EXPEDITION
Timestamp: Day 47 | Location: Tsukinami Village | Status: Emotionally compromised by nuclear radiation and feels
Okay so I went into Uranium expecting some jank fan game energy and instead got hit with a fully realized region that made me FEEL things??? This was NOT on my bingo card. 💀
🌋 THE LANDSCAPE
The Tandor region is giving post-industrial wasteland meets tropical paradise and honestly? Slay. We've got nuclear power plants melting down left and right, irradiated Pokemon going absolutely feral, and a story about your missing mom that hits harder than a Snakewood zombie encounter. The vibe is like if someone took the environmental messaging from the Pokemon movies and said "what if we made it everyone's problem."
13 towns, each with distinct visual identity. Not a single copy-paste job. The region feels LIVED IN, which is wild for something not made by Game Freak. I'm used to fan regions looking like someone's first RPG Maker project (affectionate), but this is genuinely polished infrastructure.
🔥 FAKEMON FIELD ANALYSIS
Fakemon designs are fire (literally). The Nuclear typing creates these corrupted versions of regional Pokemon that look like they crawled out of a reactor meltdown - because they did. Nucleon exists and it's an Eeveelution and I would die for it.
The starter selection via personality quiz is peak "we did something different" energy. Got myself an Orchynx (Grass/Steel cat thing) and watched it evolve into an absolute unit. Over 150 original creatures and most of them actually look like they belong in a Pokemon game? The design philosophy is coherent?? In MY fan game???
FIELD NOTE: The Garlikid line is literally just garlic that fights. Respecting the commitment to the bit.
⚠️ THREAT LEVEL ASSESSMENT
Gym Leaders in this region do NOT play around. They have actual strategies, held items, and coverage moves. Felt like I was playing Radical Red's chill cousin who still lifts weights. The Nuclear encounters especially are no joke - these irradiated Pokemon hit different (and by different I mean super effective against almost everything).
The Nuzlocke mode being built-in is chef's kiss for masochists. Randomizer too. They really said "suffer in HD."
📡 REGIONAL TECHNOLOGY
The PokePod is basically a phone that actually works. GTS and Wonder Trade BUILT INTO a fan game. Online battles. A Pokemon Speech Translator that lets you talk to your team. This is more features than some official games no cap.
- Virtual Trainer system for grinding without the grind
- Poke Radar for shiny hunting (my 400% speed lifestyle approves)
- Mystery Gifts still getting updates years later
- Mega Evolutions for the Fakemon (NUCLEON MEGA WHEN)
💀 ANOMALY REPORT
Here's where I gotta be real with the Archives: this game is NOT the beautiful disaster I usually chase. It's just... good? Like actually good? The writing has emotional weight, the pacing respects your time, and the sidequests feel meaningful.
I came looking for Vietnam Crystal energy and got a legitimate competitor to official Pokemon games. This game is absolutely unhinged 💀 but in the "how did two people make this" way, not the "why does this NPC speak in wingdings" way.
WARNING: The nuclear meltdown storyline gets DARK. Like "your mom might be dead" dark. Like "the region is dying" dark. I was not emotionally prepared. Came for the Fakemon, stayed for the trauma.
🎭 FINAL TRANSMISSION
Real talk: if you want broken jank, this ain't it bestie. Go play Snakewood or Vietnamese Crystal for that energy. But if you want to see what happens when fans pour genuine love and competence into a project for like a decade? Tandor region is RIGHT THERE.
The fact that Nintendo C&D'd this into oblivion and you gotta find it through ~alternative channels~ only adds to the mystique. Forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest and all that.
My only complaint is that it made me feel things when I specifically signed up for brainrot. Emotional damage was not in the mission briefing. 😭
EXPLORER'S NOTE: Download still exists if you know where to look. The community keeps it alive. As it should be.
