MISSION LOG: ENTRY 001 - THE FRAGMENTED REGION
I landed in this sector expecting a full-scale Unova expedition. My spreadsheet was primed, columns A through Z ready for tick marks. My capture team was prepped. But almost immediately, my DexNav started throwing errors. This isn't the full region. It's a simulation. A fragment. The intel suggests we are capped at Gym Badge 3. Do you know what that does to a man who needs to see the number 649? I am physically shaking.
VISUAL AND AUDIO ANOMALIES
The landscape has been re-tiled. It looks like Unova, but the geometry feels... Kanto-adjacent. It's a fresh coat of paint on an old engine. But the strangest phenomenon is the atmospheric audio. Instead of the usual chiptune calls of nature, the airwaves are filled with... Classic Rock? It's like Led Zeppelin hijacked the region's radio tower. It breaks immersion, yet I found myself humming along while chucking PokeBalls at a Patrat.
SUPPLY CHAIN AND QOL
Despite the incomplete map, the local technology is surprisingly advanced. The PokeMarts have been overhauled. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I saw it on the shelf and almost cried tears of joy—trade evolutions are the bane of my solitary existence, and this patch fixes that neurological itch, even if the demo ends before I can use it on a Gigalith.
Furthermore, traversing the tall grass is manageable thanks to local repellant tech. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. well, specifically the Black/White system where it prompts you to reuse immediately. It streamlines the hunt significantly. No menu fatigue.
THE COMBAT DATA
Hostile fauna have modified movesets. I noticed standard moves like Dig and Aerial Ace hitting with significantly more kinetic force than standard FireRed base metrics allow. Over 200 species have had their combat data tweaked. It keeps you on your toes, but without a full Pokedex to exploit these changes, it feels like test-driving a Ferrari in a parking lot.
FIELD NOTE: I located a shady sector known as the 'Black Market'. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The vendors here operate outside League regulations, and prices can fluctuate. Valuable items are acquired here, but keep your head on a swivel.
MISSION ABORTED
I hit the invisible wall after the third Gym. The road simply ends. My Pokedex is barely 15% filled. I cannot recommend deployment for serious Completionists yet. The lack of a post-game or even a mid-game makes the 'Gotta Catch Them All' directive impossible to fulfill. I am returning to base to reorganize my boxes. I need a nap.
