LOG ENTRY: DAY 42
LOCATION: Kanto Region (Simulation Layer: Kanye East's Coma)
CURRENT STATUS: Mental Stability Compromised. Pokedex at 89%.
THE COMA PROTOCOL
I’ve explored some bizarre dimensions in my time, but this... this is a fever dream manifested as a region. Headquarters briefed me that this simulation is generated by the dying subconscious of Gym Leader Kanye East from the Fochun region. The result? A Kanto that feels familiar but is fundamentally broken by meme culture and inter-dimensional bleeding.
The landscape is Kanto, but the inhabitants are unhinged. I walked into the Viridian Forest expecting Caterpies, and instead, I was assaulted by fauna that shouldn't exist outside of the Fochun sector. The immersion is constantly shattered by trainers with names that read like internet forum handles, but I cannot let that distract me. I have a job to do. The slots must be filled.
BIOLOGICAL ANOMALIES (THE DEX)
This is where the sweating starts. The biodiversity here is a chaotic hybrid of standard Kanto specimens and the genetically engineered aberrations known as "Clovermons." For a completionist, it’s a nightmare of taxonomy.
- The Good: The capture mechanics are solid. The engine handles the new types and movesets without crashing, which is a miracle considering the source material.
- The Bad: Trying to organize a PC box when you have a Charizard next to a... whatever that meme-thing is... triggers my OCD.
- The Verdict: Despite the chaos, the availability is surprisingly fair. Living Dex is possible without cheats. I’ve confirmed that most evolutionary lines are obtainable within a single save file, which is the only thing keeping me from waking Mr. East up with a bucket of ice water.
HUNTING LOGISTICS & QOL
I judge a region by its tools, not its jokes. Thankfully, the technology here is imported from the advanced Fochun sector.
FIELD NOTE: Do not ignore the department stores. The inventory has been updated for solo operatives.
I found the holy grail early on: the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. No more begging Headquarters to set up a trade simulation just to get a Gengar. This single feature bumps the region’s rating up significantly. However, the difficulty curve is erratic. One moment you're steamrolling a Bug Catcher, the next you're facing a Gym Leader with competitive strats and held items that wipe your team. It keeps you awake, I'll give it that.
POST-GAME & COMPLETION
I am currently 80+ hours into this expedition. The map keeps expanding in ways I didn't anticipate. 100% completion took me 85 hours. It’s not just about beating the League; there are remnants of the Fochun region bleeding through, offering challenges that require actual EV training and team synergy. It's meaty, but it's also exhausting. The humor is subjective—mostly "internet edgy"—but the battle engine is undeniably high-quality.
If you can stomach the memes and the feeling that you're trapped in a 2016 message board, the hunting grounds are fertile. Just don't ask me to explain the lore. I'm just here for the shiny charm.
