LOG ENTRY: SAELIO REGION - DAY 1
I touched down in the Saelio sector late. Classic rookie mistake, right? But listen to this: Professor Pine ran out of the standard biological starter units (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle). Instead of sending me home, he handed me a Dratini. A pseudo-legendary slot #147 right out of the gate? My dopamine receptors fired instantly. This isn't just a starter; it's a long-term investment. I don't sleep until my Pokedex says 100%, and starting with a Dragon-type significantly alters the early-game catch trajectory.
THE CATCHABILITY INDEX
I immediately accessed the region's evolutionary data. The local laws of physics have been altered—specifically regarding trade evolutions. Alakazam, Gengar, Machamp? They evolve via level-up here. Living Dex is possible without cheats. This is the gold standard for solo operatives like myself. No more begging for trade partners on obscure forums. Furthermore, Eevee enthusiasts take note: Sun and Moon Stones are functional for Espeon and Umbreon. My spreadsheet for Eeveelutions is finally clean.
REGIONAL ANOMALIES (MODIFIED TYPING)
Explorers, check your scanners. I detected strange biological readings. Several species in Saelio possess elemental typings inconsistent with the National Dex database. It appears to be a regional mutation phenomenon. It threw off my memorized type matchups during the Gym challenges—which, by the way, are multi-typed. You can't just sweep with a single super-effective mon. You actually have to think. It’s disorienting, but it keeps the grind fresh.
THREAT ASSESSMENT: TEAM INFERNO
The local hostile entity, Team Inferno, is aggressive. They aren't just loitering; they are actively dismantling local infrastructure. The threat level is moderate, but be warned: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I nearly missed a crucial encounter because I triggered a cutscene without prepping my capture team. Do not make my mistake.
FINAL LOG
The Saelio region is a solid, albeit slightly dated, expedition. The decapitalization of text is a huge QoL improvement (reading logs in ALL CAPS gives me a migraine), but the lack of a Physical/Special split indicates older technology. However, the thrill of the Dratini start cannot be overstated. 100% completion took me 85 hours. It’s a grind, but a worthy one for the Archives.
