LOG ENTRY: THE WUJIFIN ANOMALY
Timestamp: 04:00 Hours
Location: Turquoise Region, Littleroot-ish Coastline
Pokedex Status: 001/??? (Panic Levels: Rising)
I touched down in the Turquoise sector expecting a standard FireRed topography, but my sensors immediately went haywire. The local Professor handed me a specimen identified as 'Wujifin'. I checked my National Dex database. It’s not there. It’s not in Kanto. It’s not in Sinnoh. It is Slot #000. Do you know what this does to a spreadsheet? It breaks the sorting algorithm! I had to create a whole new tab just for this anomaly.
THE ECOSYSTEM & AVAILABILITY
My first priority was establishing a baseline for the Living Dex. The local fauna is a chaotic mix. We have standard Kanto specimens, but this 'Wujifin' implies genetic tampering. I spent six hours bush-wacking Route 1 just to verify encounter tables.
FIELD NOTE: The region boasts 'Underwater' traversal capabilities—a feature typically restricted to Hoenn-grade environments. In a FireRed base engine, this is impressive local engineering, but it complicates the hunt. Diving spots are prime locations for missed encounters.
I attempted to map the trade evolutions. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W.—wait, scratch that, I wish that were true here. The item distribution networks in this Beta version are unstable. I found myself staring at a Kadabra that refused to bend spoons no matter how much I leveled it. For a completionist, this is purgatory.
THREAT LEVEL & ANOMALIES
The hostile entity known as 'Team Rocket' has a new leader. Their tactics are erratic. I encountered several 'Glitch Cities'—areas where the fabric of reality seemed to tear (visual bugs). The archives labeled this mission 'Completed', yet the firmware version reads 'Beta 1.2'. This discrepancy is dangerous.
I tracked the playtime carefully. 100% completion took me 15 hours. That is suspiciously short for a full region. It suggests the 'Completed' tag might be a clerical error at Headquarters. The map ends abruptly. There is no post-game Battle Frontier to sink my teeth into, leaving my competitive team with nowhere to go.
THE VERDICT
The region has charm, particularly the underwater biomes which break up the monotony of the standard Kanto asset flip. However, for a Hunter, it is a nightmare of uncertainty. Are there missing legendaries? Is the Pokedex actually finishable? The answer appears to be 'No'.
WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The scripting around the Rocket climax is fragile. I walked through a door and triggered a cutscene that locked me out of the previous area forever. My chance to catch a specific Zubat variant? Gone. 0/10.
