You – our very player, have just graduated from Team Rocket’s boot camp. You are ready to wreak some havoc with your own Pokemon. The boss has sent you and your partner to a hidden Rocket base in Saffron City. This is also the place where you will get the first mission: go to Lavender Town. But I need to issue a Code Red immediately: This expedition is a dead end.

THE CATCHING MECHANIC: STRESS LEVEL CRITICAL

The local technology allows for something I’ve dreamed of: Stealing Trainer Pokemon. Finally, I can take that annoying kid's Rattata! But the implementation? It’s a neurological nightmare. You can only steal a Pokemon if you have an open slot in your party. If you are carrying six Pokemon, the capture protocol fails. Permanently.

Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before talking to ANYONE. If a Trainer has a rare Pokemon and your party is full, you miss that catch forever. I started sweating profusely. I had to walk around with 5 slots empty just to be safe. My anxiety is through the roof.

THE LANDSCAPE: A BROKEN TIMELINE

The visual landscape of this region is vibrant, unlike anything in the Kanto sector, with custom assets created by the architect 'Astinus'. However, the infrastructure is crumbling. The Official Intel designated this region as "Abandoned / Alpha 1", and they weren't kidding.

There are no Gyms. No Badge Case to fill (0/8 Badges triggers my OCD). You rank up by doing grunt work. It’s an interesting loop, but the lack of structure hurts. And the healing? There are no PokeCenters. You heal by... entering houses? It disrupts the grinding loop completely. I need efficiency! I need to heal in 3 seconds and get back to the tall grass!

DATA CORRUPTION DETECTED

I tried to push for the post-game. I wanted to see if the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. usually, but here? The Department Store might as well be a glitch void. The story cuts off abruptly. The map ends. There is no Johto access despite the rumors.

100% completion took me 3 hours. Not 85 hours. 3. And my Pokedex is sitting at a pathetic percentage because the rest of the species simply do not exist in this version. For a completionist, this is torture. It's like seeing a puzzle with 90% of the pieces missing.

VERDICT: ABORT MISSION

The concept of playing as a Rocket Grunt with a theft mechanic is S-Tier. The execution is an incomplete fragment. Unless you are a Historian documenting the ruins of abandoned ROM hacks, stay away. There is no "Catching Them All" here. There is only "Catching What Was Coded Before The Dev Quit."
