LOG ENTRY: DAY 14 - THE 721 PROTOCOL
My eyes are burning. I haven't blinked in six hours. Why? Because the Pokedex counter in this region goes up to 721. Do you understand the magnitude of that number? We aren't just talking Hoenn natives. We are talking Kalosian entities migrating into the Petalburg Woods. The biodiversity here is absolute chaos. My spreadsheet is currently 400 rows deep and I haven't even hit the halfway mark. This is not a drill.
THE HUNTING GROUNDS
I ran the diagnostics immediately upon arrival. Living Dex is possible without cheats. Every single species from Bulbasaur to Volcanion is theoretically present within these borders. I found "Legendary Portals"—literal tears in the space-time continuum—scattered across the map. These rifts are the only way to secure the Mythicals. I stood before a Hoopa ring that radiated pure energy; the catch rate was abysmal, but the dopamine hit when the ball clicked shut? Unmatched.
FIELD EQUIPMENT & QOL
Local technology has advanced significantly since my last tour in standard Emerald. The TMs are reusable. I repeat: Reusable TMs. Do you know how much time that saves me on move-set optimization? My bag capacity has been expanded to accommodate 500+ items, including Arceus Plates and Beast Balls. But here is the critical intel:
- Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. No more begging for trade partners or setting up emulators. Just pure, unadulterated evolution efficiency.
- Fishing mechanics have been simplified. No more "Oh! A bite!" timing mini-games that induce carpal tunnel.
ANOMALIES DETECTED (WARNING)
The fabric of this reality is... thin. While the content is dense, I experienced several "glitch events" where the world seemed to freeze or visual data corrupted during high-density encounters. It’s a high-risk environment.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Or before opening a menu. Or before breathing. The stability of this dimension is questionable at best. Frequent saves are mandatory to protect your save file integrity.
POST-GAME OPERATIONS
I am currently 62 hours in and nowhere near finished. Post-game is massive. Battle Frontier included. It's the classic Frontier, but updated with the Gen 6 mechanics and Fairy types. Watching a Mega Salamence tear through the Battle Tower is a spiritual experience. The difficulty curve is steep—Gym Leaders utilize competitive items and Mega Evolutions mid-battle. Preparation is not optional.
100% completion took me 85 hours. Okay, that's a projection, I'm currently at hour 62 and 89% completion, but the math checks out. Back to the grind.
