MISSION LOG: REGION PURE WHITE
TIMESTAMP: Day 14, 03:00 Hours. Location: The Eastern Desert.
STATUS: Caffeinated. Trembling. Pokedex at 98%.
I don't know who organized this "International Tournament," but they are sadists. Seven leagues? Seven? Do you have any idea what that does to a completionist's schedule? I haven't slept since I washed up on the western beach. The urge to catalogue is overwhelming here.
THE LANDSCAPE
The geography is suspiciously linear but dense. We're talking a distinct bio-gradient: Hydro-dominant sectors in the West, shifting through dense vegetation in the central sector, ending in a Pyro-dominant wasteland in the East. It feels engineered for a gauntlet run. The visual fidelity has been upgraded—local navigational interfaces (icons) resemble the Gen VI standard. It’s clean. Efficient.
OPERATIONAL MECHANICS
Hostile entities here have adapted. The Physical/Special Split is in full effect, thank Arceus. I encountered species wielding abilities I haven't seen since the Unova and Kalos expeditions. The inclusion of the Fairy-type significantly alters the threat assessment of Dragon-heavy teams in the late game.
FIELD NOTE: Do not ignore the capture mechanics. This region utilizes the "Exp on Catch" protocol. Every capture strengthens the team. This is the most efficient way to grind while filling the Dex.
THE HUNT & QoL
Let's talk logistics, because this is where the region truly shines for an Explorer like me. The local technology is superior to the standard Hoenn output.
- Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. I cannot stress this enough. Navigating the "Dead Volcano" sector without constant menu interruptions saved my sanity.
- Infinite TMs: The discs do not break. I was able to re-kit my entire team for specific Gym Leader counters without burning resources.
- HMs are Deletable: No more Move Deleter backtracking. If I need that slot for a coverage move, I take it.
THE VERDICT
The "Seven Leagues" claim wasn't propaganda. The sheer volume of battles here is staggering. It's a boss-rush paradise. I’m currently tracking down the final few entries for the Dex. 100% completion took me 85 hours, and I'm still optimizing my boxes. The difficulty spikes are real—you cannot sleepwalk through this tournament.
Is it perfect? No. The linear progression can feel restrictive compared to open-world regions, but the density of content makes up for it. Living Dex is possible without cheats, provided you have the stamina to survive the tournament brackets.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an egg that needs to hatch. It's blinking.
