LOG ENTRY: KANTO REGION (VARIANT: THE LAST FIRE RED)
TIMESTAMP: 0300 HOURS
LOCATION: INDIGO PLATEAU (CAMP SITE)
STATUS: SLEEP DEPRIVED. POKEDEX AT 92%.
My hands are still shaking. I haven't seen a biodiversity density this high since the Unbound sector. This isn't just Kanto; it's Kanto on performance-enhancing supplements. The sheer volume of species—Gen 1 through 7 cramming into every patch of tall grass—is enough to make a completionist weep with joy (or terror).
THE HUNTING GROUNDS
Let’s cut to the chase—literally. The local technology has been upgraded significantly. They've integrated a DexNav system into the region. For a hunter like me, this is non-negotiable.
FIELD NOTE: The DexNav isn't just for show. It reveals Hidden Abilities and potential IV spikes. Shiny hunting method: DexNav chaining works perfectly. I spent six hours in Viridian Forest just to secure a Shiny Grubbin. Worth it.
The local fauna is overwhelming. We are talking about 800+ distinct biological signatures. The logistical nightmare of storing them has been addressed by an expansion of the PC storage system to 24 boxes. I almost hyperventilated when I saw the extra space. Living Dex is possible without cheats. I repeat: Possible.
COMBAT ANOMALIES
The threat level here is severe. The locals don't just stand there; they scale. Level Scaling means if I power-level my Charizard to level 60, Youngster Joey is suddenly throwing level 60 Rattatas at my face. There is no easy mode. There is no stomping.
Furthermore, the energy readings in battle are chaotic. I've documented Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and Dynamaxing occurring within the same zip code. It’s a sensory overload. Seeing a Weedle turn into a skyscraper-sized kaiju is a fever dream I wasn't prepared for, but it keeps the adrenaline pumping.
LOGISTICS AND QOL
I judge a region by its respect for my time. This place respects it. The Trade Stone technology is widely available, meaning I didn't have to beg another explorer to help me evolve my Gengar. That is a massive W in my book.
Traveling through caves is usually my personal hell, but the local tech includes a specialized dispersal unit. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. One click, and the Zubats leave me alone until I say otherwise. Why isn't this standard issue in every region?
THE VERDICT
This expedition was exhausting. The combination of high difficulty, level scaling, and the sheer number of targets (Gen 1-7) makes this a marathon, not a sprint. 100% completion took me 85 hours, and I still have a few Ultra Beasts to track down. If you have the stamina for a Living Dex challenge with hostile combatants at every turn, this is your holy grail.
