MISSION LOG: SECTOR TECHNO EMERALD
Timestamp: 0400 Hours
Location: Littleroot Operations Base
Explorer: DexHunter Ace
I landed in the Techno Emerald sector with one goal: Catalog everything. But the local atmosphere is... restrictive. My initial scans indicate a massive anomaly in the local fauna distribution. The intel was correct: Only Generation 5 through 8 specimens are authorized for capture.
My completionist brain initially went into shock. I saw a Youngster with a Rattata and almost hyperventilated because I couldn't catch it. But once I recalibrated my Pokedex to the local "Techno" firmware, I realized the scope of this mission. We aren't here for the nostalgia trips; we are here for the modern biological diversity in a Hoenn shell.
LOGISTICS & QUALITY OF LIFE
Let's talk about the gear because the local tech is S-Tier. The Creator, MythicalBlueFlare, clearly understands that time spent grinding is time wasted not filling boxes.
- Candy Bag & Caps: No more murdering Audinos for hours. You get candies, you hit the level cap, you fight the boss. Efficient.
- Poke Rider: HMs are dead. I repeat, HMs are dead. No more Bidoof (or Patrat, in this case) wasting a slot.
- Infinite Poke Vial: Field healing without flying back to the Center? This keeps the momentum of the hunt going.
NOTE: The "No EVs" rule is in effect. This is a pure tactical environment. Don't waste time EV training; it's disabled. Focus on IVs and Nature.
THE HUNT: CATCHABILITY REPORT
The restriction to Gen 5-8 is strict. You will not be sweeping with a Mudkip. You will be learning to love the Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar rosters. For a completionist, this is actually a refreshing constraint—it forces you to fill slots you usually ignore. I found myself actually using a Crustle. A Crustle!
Living Dex is possible without cheats. The distribution is dense. Every route is packed with species from the modern eras. I haven't found a single "Trade Evolution" bottleneck yet.
Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I evolved my Gigalith immediately. No friends required. Just pure, unadulterated efficiency.
THREAT LEVEL: HIGH
Do not mistake the QoL for a lack of danger. The Gym Leaders are using competitive strats. They have Megas. They have field effects that will ruin your day if you don't read the documentation. I wiped to a gym leader because I didn't respect the terrain.
WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Some legendary encounters are scripted tightly. Don't fumble the bag.
POST-GAME & VERDICT
I'm clocking out now. My boxes are organized by National Dex number (local variant). The sheer volume of "modern" mons in the Hoenn map makes the region feel completely alien, which is exactly what a veteran explorer needs.
100% completion took me 85 hours. That includes the Battle Frontier, which is still active and brutal with the new mechanics. If you have the itch to catch things you usually bench, this is the expedition for you.
