LOG ENTRY: DAY 42 - THE HOENN EXPANSION
Location: Battle Frontier, Accommodation Area
Status: Exhausted, twitchy, but satisfied.
Pokedex Count: 650/650
I finally put the Game Boy Advance SP down. My thumbs are calloused. The mission in the Super Theta Emerald sector is complete, and I need to document this immediately before the hallucinations of Shiny Ralts start again. This wasn't just a vacation to Hoenn; this was a biological survey of massive proportions.
THE CENSUS (POKEDEX OPERATIONS)
Let’s cut to the chase—the only thing that matters. The biodiversity here is staggering compared to the standard Emerald simulation. We are talking about 650 unique species roaming the tall grass. My spreadsheet nearly crashed.
The local governance (Developer LCCoolJ95) has implemented a strict "No Mon Left Behind" policy. I can confirm the intel: Living Dex is possible without cheats. Every single slot, from Bulbasaur to Gen 6 entities, can be filled through legitimate fieldwork. No trading with alternate dimensions required. Do you know how good it feels to catch a starter in the wild? It feels like victory.
FIELD MECHANICS & QOL
The technological leap in this region is jarring—in a good way. The local Pokenav has been upgraded with data from the Kalos region. We have the Physical/Special split fully integrated into the combat physics, making Sneasel actually viable for once. Thank Arceus.
But the real efficiency booster? Reusable TMs. I didn't have to hoard Earthquake like it was liquid gold. I could teach it to my entire ground assault team without hesitation. Also, gaining EXP upon capturing a specimen is a neurological delight. It keeps the momentum going during heavy collection phases.
FIELD NOTE: The "Mega Evolution" phenomenon is active here. I located the Mega Ring early. It turns standard encounters into kaiju battles. Highly effective for sweeping Gym Leaders who think they're clever.
EVOLUTIONARY ANOMALIES
Trade evolutions are the bane of my existence. Fortunately, this region has mutated the evolutionary triggers. I didn't need a second operative to hold a cable. Species now evolve via specific Move acquisition or by leveling up in specific Map locations (e.g., Moss Rock). It requires a wiki or a lot of experimentation, but it keeps the solo expedition viable.
THREAT ASSESSMENT & STABILITY
While the biodiversity is high, the fabric of reality here can be... thin. I encountered minor visual glitches—anomalies in the matrix—when cycling too fast through dense sprite areas. Nothing mission-critical, but keep your save file backed up. Speaking of which:
WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Specifically when hunting the higher-tier Legendaries. Some of these entities do not respawn if you accidentally knock them out with a crit, and the event triggers are sensitive.
MISSION DEBRIEF
This expedition was a marathon, not a sprint. The sheer volume of 650 targets requires a disciplined schedule. I spent days just surfing for water types I hadn't seen since the Unova Dex. It’s a completionist’s playground, provided you have the patience for the old-school GBA engine limitations.
100% completion took me 85 hours. And that's with the speed-up toggle off. If you are obsessed with filling boxes and don't mind a classic Hoenn vibe with a massive roster injection, this is your next assignment.
