MISSION START: T-MINUS 0 HOURS
I landed in the Kanto region, but my sensors were immediately scrambling. The coordinates said Pallet Town, but the bio-readings were screaming ALOLA. I checked my Pokedex. Slot #001 wasn't Bulbasaur—it was Rowlet. My heart rate spiked to 120 BPM. A regional variant of Kanto populated by Gen 7 entities? This changes the entire collection meta.
THE COLLECTION PROTOCOL
I spent the first six hours just categorizing the local fauna. The biodiversity here is a chaotic mix of Gen 1, Gen 2, and the Alolan immigrants. For a completionist, this is a playground, but also a nightmare of organization.
I can confirm that the Living Dex is possible without cheats. The local authorities (NPCs) have set up a barter economy where Kanto and Johto starters are available via trade. This is a massive relief. I didn't have to restart the simulation three times to secure the Fire/Water/Grass trinity. However, you need to be vigilant. There are reports of "New Scams" integrated into the NPC AI. I approached a merchant expecting a standard transaction and nearly lost my Pokedollars to a rogue script. Keep your wallet close.
ANOMALY DETECTED: PHYSICS ENGINE FAILURE
Something is wrong with the elemental matrix in this sector. I engaged a Dragon-type hostile with an Ice beam, expecting the usual 4x multiplier, which worked, but when the Dragon retaliated? My Ice armor held up. Ice resists Dragon and Water here.
Even stranger: Steel plating seems compromised against Psionic attacks. Steel is weak against Psychic? My entire combat spreadsheet is useless! I had to rewrite my threat assessment algorithms on the fly. It feels less like a "feature" and more like a disturbance in the reality distortion field.
FIELD NOTE: Do not rely on muscle memory. The Type Chart has been tampered with. Treat every encounter as a potential unknown variable until verified.
THE ENDGAME & THREAT LEVEL
The region operates on a Day/Night cycle, which affects spawn rates. I spent four hours in the tall grass waiting for nightfall just to secure a specific evolution. The threat level is moderate, but the modified type chart adds an artificial layer of difficulty. It forces you to pay attention, I'll give it that.
Regarding the legendary entities: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. The new scripted events for Legendaries are volatile. If you knock it out, it might be gone from the timeline forever, leaving a permanent hole in your Pokedex. That is unacceptable.
FINAL LOG
100% completion took me 32 hours. It's a brisk expedition. The visual novelty of Alolan forms in the GBA engine is pleasing, but the altered physics (Type Chart) left me feeling disoriented rather than challenged. It satisfies the itch to catch Rowlet in pixel art, but I'm packing up and moving to the next region.
