MISSION REPORT: POKEMON SUN & MOON FIRERED
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Region: Kanto Sector (Alolan Contamination Zone)
Mission Duration: 23 hours, 47 minutes
Pokedex Completion: 67.3% (INCOMPLETE - SEE NOTES)
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Okay. OKAY. Deep breaths. Let me tell you about the emotional rollercoaster I just experienced. I loaded into this region expecting a simple Alolan injection into Kanto infrastructure, and what I got was... complicated. My hands are still shaking from the spreadsheet I had to build.
The premise is solid: Gen 7 Pokemon roaming the classic Kanto landscape. Alolan forms coexisting with their Kantonian counterparts. Ultra Beasts lurking somewhere in the post-game. My Pokedex-completion neurons were FIRING. But then reality set in.
REGIONAL FAUNA ANALYSIS
The creature distribution here is chaotic. And I mean that both positively and negatively. Rowlet in Viridian Forest? Yes. Rockruff on Route 3? Absolutely. The early routes feel like someone dumped the entire Alola regional catalog into a blender with Kanto spawn tables.
FIELD NOTE: Alolan Vulpix appears in Mt. Moon. Standard Vulpix still spawns in Pokemon Mansion. Both forms catchable. My heart rate normalized slightly.
The Mega Evolution implementation is present but feels... unstable. Some stones are available through standard progression. Others? I'm still looking. My item checklist has more question marks than confirmed entries, and that's making my eye twitch.
QUALITY OF LIFE INFRASTRUCTURE
Here's where my expedition report gets painful to write. The Physical/Special split is implemented - thank the Arceus Protocol for that. Fairy typing is functional. These are baseline expectations for any modern regional expedition.
But the QoL features I need? The ones that separate a completionist paradise from a completionist nightmare?
- Trade evolution solution: UNCONFIRMED. I could not locate a Link Cable item in any Department Store or mart. Huge L. My Haunter is staring at me with those gas-cloud eyes, waiting.
- Infinite Repel system: ABSENT. I burned through 847 Repels. I counted.
- DexNav or equivalent: NONEXISTENT. Shiny hunting method is pure random encounters. Old school. Painful.
MISSABLE EVENT WARNING! The Ultra Beast encounters appear to be tied to specific story flags. I cannot confirm if missing dialogue triggers locks you out permanently. Save before EVERYTHING.
THREAT LEVEL ASSESSMENT
The hostile entities in this region operate at moderate danger levels. Gym Leaders use updated movesets with Gen 7 Pokemon integrated into their rosters, but the AI tactics feel dated - standard FireRed behavior patterns. Brock brought out an Alolan Geodude. It died to my Popplio. Not exactly a tactical masterclass.
The real threat? The bugs. Sorry - the anomalies. I encountered three soft-locks during my expedition. One in Celadon City when interacting with a specific NPC. One during a wild encounter with what I think was supposed to be Silvally. The third... I don't want to talk about the third. I lost 40 minutes of catching progress.
POKEDEX COMPLETION VIABILITY
This is the section that hurts to write. Living Dex is NOT possible without cheats - at least not in this build. Version 1.5 has gaps. Significant gaps. Several Ultra Beasts appear to be placeholder data only. Cosmog's evolution line is partially implemented. Necrozma? I found evidence of its existence in the code (don't ask how I know), but no legitimate encounter method.
My final Pokedex count: 412 out of an estimated 613 available entries. That's 67.3%. For a completionist, that number is a wound.
POST-GAME TERRITORY
Post-game is... present? The Sevii Islands are accessible. Some legendary encounters are scattered across the expanded map. But there's no Battle Frontier. No meaningful endgame challenge facility. Once the Elite Four falls, the region feels hollow.
I spent 6 additional hours after the credits hunting for hidden content. Found some. Not enough.
ANOMALY LOG
- Sprite inconsistencies: Several Gen 7 Pokemon use placeholder or corrupted sprites
- Move data errors: Some Z-Move animations trigger despite Z-Moves being "disabled" - causes visual glitches
- Evolution soft-locks: Crabrawler evolution crashed my expedition twice
- Text overflow in Pokedex entries for Pokemon with longer names
FINAL EXPEDITION NOTES
Look. I wanted to love this region. The concept of hunting Alolan forms across Kanto geography? That's my exact neurological frequency. But Beta 1.5 is exactly what it says - a beta. An incomplete expedition into unstable territory.
The bones are here. The creature variety is genuinely exciting when it works. But until someone patches the soft-locks, implements proper trade evolution alternatives, and finishes the Ultra Beast encounters, I cannot recommend this for serious completionist expeditions.
My spreadsheet weeps. My Pokedex has holes. I need to lie down.
RECOMMENDATION: Wait for a stable release. Monitor development channels. Do NOT attempt 100% completion in current build - it is mathematically impossible and emotionally devastating.
