Some challenge

For those ones who haven’t known about Pokemon Stadium yet: it is the first and the only strategy Pokemon game on the N64 system. This game doesn’t have a usual storyline like other Pokemon games Red/Blue/Yellow, instead, it is a Strategy game in which players control a Pokemon and beat their opponents in a Pokemon Tournament. There will be some cups and players have to use their character to get those cups and an honorable title at the end: the Tournament Champion. Back to Pokemon Stadium Advanced. Players will face a lot of the strongest opponents from everywhere because they want to get that Champion title and test their skills at the same time. These battles will never be easy and peaceful. Let’s rock!

LOG ENTRY: THE STERILE WASTELAND

Day 1. Pulse: 140 BPM. Sweat level: Critical. I have arrived in the Pokemon Stadium Advanced sector, and I am panicking. I looked for Route 1. It doesn’t exist. I looked for a starter Pokemon to soft-reset for a Shiny. There is no Professor. There is no tall grass. There is only... The Arena.

My neurological need to fill a Pokedex is screaming. This region isn't a world; it's a gauntlet. A sterile laboratory of war designed by an architect named fuzzyketchup. If you are looking for a breathing ecosystem, turn back now. This is pure combat data.

THE ANOMALY: NO CATCHING?

I tried to access my storage system. Empty. The local laws of physics (game mechanics) prohibit the use of Poke Balls. I judge games by their 'catchability', and this scores a terrifying null value. You don't hunt here; you survive. You are thrown into tournament cups—the Seed Cup, the Fire Cup—against hostile entities with advanced AI tactics.

However, for the Strategists among us, the challenge is real. The enemy trainers aren't the usual bug catchers; they are optimized killing machines. I found myself respecting the sheer hostility of the environment, even if my collection urge was starving.

FIELD NOTE: Do not expect mercy. The RNG in this sector feels rigged by a vengeful god. Critical hits are common anomalies.

VISUALS & PERFORMANCE

I must admit, the visual landscape of this region is vibrant, unlike anything in the Kanto sector. The interface has been overhauled to mimic the N64 simulation data. It’s clean, it’s sharp, but it feels... lonely. Without the dopamine hit of a capture animation, the graphics are just pretty wallpaper on a cage.

MISSION DEBRIEF

Is it finished? The logs say 'Completed', but the version stamp reads 'Beta 1.1'. I encountered several stability fluctuations. At times, the text speed dragged like a Slowpoke in a blizzard. 100% completion took me 15 hours of pure battling, but that number is deceiving. It felt like an eternity of stress.

Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. Just kidding. There are no wild encounters to repel. My soul hurts. There is no exploration, no hidden grottos to spreadsheet, and no reason to check behind the waterfall. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Wait, there are no caves either. Just save before every battle, or you will lose your mind.

If you treat this as a 'Battle Simulator' plugin for your brain, it works. If you are an Explorer like me? It’s a prison.

"This game is really wacky, and I don't like it at all. Stupid, and nothing like a real pokemon game at all >:(."

"You can get the 2nd gen starters as well as the original 151... maybe if you beat it you can use the other pokemon that do not show up...."

"Several pokeballs completely empty and I couldn’t choose the Pokémon that was supposed to be in it (like tyranitar) and the Pokémon I was able to choose had movesets that made them useless (like Starmie)."
