MISSION LOG: DAY 1 - THE LINGUISTIC ANOMALY
I’ve touched down in the Shock Yellow sector, and my neurological need for order is already screaming. The local dialect is... broken. The mission briefing mentioned a 'Blue Japanese Conspiracy' and 'abnormal formations,' and frankly, the text boxes in this region feel like they were translated through a Wormhole three times. But I’m here for one thing: The Data.
THE LANDSCAPE: IN TECHNICOLOR
The first thing I noticed? The saturation. This isn't the monochromatic Kanto of my youth. The region has been terraformed into full color (GBC standard). For a completionist, this is vital—it makes spotting anomalies much easier on the eyes during long grinding sessions. However, the terrain feels unstable. The 'Team Rocket' entities trigger animations that feel... foreign. It’s a fever dream of Kanto.
THE HUNT: CATCHABILITY ANALYSIS
My palms are sweating. The intel stated: 'Are you Pokemon captured or received.' I don't know if that's a question or a threat. I’m currently at 45% Pokedex completion, but the distribution tables are erratic. I found wild encounters where they shouldn't be. The briefing promised 'One or more ball in master game'—I confirmed Master Balls are accessible, likely via the modified Mart inventory. This is critical for the roaming legends if they exist here.
FIELD NOTE: The Department Stores have been overhauled. I can confirm the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. This saves me from the nightmare of dual-wielding Game Boys for a Gengar.
THREAT ASSESSMENT: GYM LEADERS
Do not underestimate the hostile entities here. The Gym Leaders aren't sticking to the standard League regulations. Their rosters have been expanded, and their movesets modified ('Pidgeot Storm'?). It required significant grinding to bypass the third Gym. I suspect the level curve has been spiked to artificially extend the runtime.
THE VERDICT: DATA CORRUPTION IMMINENT
I spent 12 hours here, and I still don't know if a Living Dex is possible without cheats. The documentation is nonexistent, and the in-game text is a puzzle in itself. While the QoL updates (color, mart items) are appreciated, the lack of clarity on 'missable' mons triggers my anxiety. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before you do anything. This reality is glitchy.
