LOG ENTRY: THE SCHOOLYARD PANIC
I arrived at the coordinates for Pokemon School. Base architecture is Ruby-style, but the vibe is... institutional. I expected a region. I got a syllabus. My Pokedex is currently sitting at 0, and I've been informed of a terrifying local law: Wild Pokemon capture is restricted to the initial zone.
My heart rate is currently 140 BPM. Do you understand what this means? If I miss a capture in the tutorial zone, is slot #012 gone forever? Is my 100% run dead before I even find my locker? This is not a drill. I spent 45 minutes in the first patch of grass just hyperventilating.
THE CURRICULUM (GAMEPLAY LOOP)
The local inhabitants (Students, Janitors, Teachers) are hostile entities. They call battles "Exams". I call them obstacles between me and the PC Box. The threat level is relatively low, but the psychological pressure is high because you need "good marks" to progress. The world structure is extremely contained—no sprawling routes, just hallways and courtyards.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Or in this specific anomaly, save before leaving the initial playground area. If you advance the script without catching everything available, you are locking yourself out of data entries. Absolute nightmare fuel for a completionist.
THE COLLECTION REPORT
Let's talk numbers, because numbers are the only thing that matters. The "Modified Pokemon" are local regional variants—anomalies in the code. Interesting, but without a massive world to explore, the dopamine hit of a new registration is fleeting. There is no National Dex expansion here. No Department Store for bulk Ultra Ball purchases.
Is a Living Dex is possible without cheats? NEGATIVE. Unless you possess clairvoyance on exactly which species appear in the "beginning zone," you will miss something. The game design actively fights against hoarding. It’s a linear narrative experience, not a collector's paradise.
FINAL ANALYSIS
This isn't a region; it's a classroom. 100% completion took me 3 hours. It's a short, weird trip. The mechanics are functional, but the scope is microscopic. If you're looking for a massive post-game with a Battle Frontier, this is a hard pass. If you want a quick, quirky distraction where you battle teachers, enroll here. But don't expect to fill that Pokedex.
