MISSION LOG: ENTRY AZIRA-01
Location: Azira Region, Hila Valley
Current Pokedex Status: 12% (STUCK)
Heart Rate: Elevated
I have touched down in the Azira region. My initial scan indicates a biodiversity density that rivals the Unova sector, but with a distinct tropical biosphere. The locals call it "Pokemon Saffron," but I call it a Completionist's Purgatory. Why? Because the map cuts off. The roads end. It's a Demo. My neurological need to see the number 100% is screaming.
THE ECOSYSTEM
The visual landscape of this region is vibrant, unlike anything in the Kanto sector. We are talking Gen 4/5 style fidelity on a GBA engine. It’s luscious. The day/night cycle isn't just a filter; it shifts the entire mood of the habitat. I spent three hours in the tall grass just admiring the sprite work before remembering I had a job to do.
Fauna variety is high. We have migration patterns from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. I spotted a Rockruff early on. Regional variants are present and accounted for. But here is the kicker: I can't reach the final evolution stages for half of them because the level cap in this expedition is limited by the "Demo" status.
MECHANICAL FIELD NOTES
The local technology is advanced. They have implemented the Physical/Special split natively. The UI is clean. However, my anxiety spikes when I look at the evolution methods.
- Evolution Items: I located a vendor selling stones, but stock is limited in this build.
- Trade Evolutions: Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. I saw it listed in the game's code manifest, even if I can't afford it yet. This suggests the final version will support a solo Living Dex.
- Field Skills: HMs are handled differently here. No more slave 'mons. You use tools. This is optimal for roster efficiency.
ANOMALIES & QOL
I spent hours testing the mining mini-game. It's addictive, but dangerous for my schedule. I found fossils and evolution stones, which soothed the itch slightly. The Pochi Mixing is a cute diversion, but I'm here for the data.
FIELD WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave north of the starting town. There is a scripted encounter that, if failed, leaves a permanent hole in your encounter log for this save file. I reset my game three times to secure the catch.
Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. It prompts you automatically when one wears off. This saved me approximately 400 button presses over the course of the expedition. Essential for maintaining sanity while hunting specific natures.
THE VERDICT: INCOMPLETE DATA
This expedition was a tease. A high-fidelity, beautifully crafted tease. I have cataloged every species available in the current zones, but the "To Be Continued" screen is my nightmare. 100% completion of the current sector took me 12 hours, but I am hungry for the rest.
If you are like me and need to catch them ALL, wait. If you want to see what the GBA engine is truly capable of, deploy immediately.
