LOG ENTRY: HOENN SECTOR [RUBY++ VARIANT]
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Current Status: Twitching. Need more PokeBalls.
Pokedex Count: 386/??? (Processing)
I dropped into the Hoenn region expecting the usual water-heavy slog. You know the drill: too much surfing, too many Tentacools. But my scanner picked up anomalous readings immediately. This isn't just Ruby. This is Ruby optimized for the obsession. The local professor, codenamed Okirin, has overhauled the biological data of the local fauna to match Generation 7 standards. That means updated stats, updated movesets, and—thank Arceus—the Physical/Special split is active. My Swampert can finally hit things properly.
THE HUNT: CATCHABILITY INDEX
Let's get to the meat. The intel promised "All non-legendary Pokemon available" up to Gen 4. I've been cross-referencing encounter tables with my spreadsheets for 12 hours straight. The distribution is dense. You aren't just finding Wurmples on Route 101; the biodiversity has exploded. Living Dex is possible without cheats—at least for the standard ecosystem. However, the legendary signals are faint. I'm still verifying if the Mythicals are gated behind events or just extremely well-hidden.
FIELD NOTE: Shiny Chaining is active. I spent 6 hours in Petalburg Woods testing the algorithm. It works. The dopamine hit when the sparkles appeared was sufficient to keep me awake for another 48 hours.
QUALITY OF LIFE (THE GOOD STUFF)
My inventory management has never been smoother. The local tech has advanced significantly. We have access to HM Items. Repeat: HM ITEMS. I released my HM Slave Zigzagoon immediately. No more wasting a move slot on Cut. This is optimal efficiency.
Furthermore, the Best QoL: Infinite Repel system (B2/W2 style) is fully functional. The prompt asks if I want to use another one immediately. It saves me exactly 3 seconds per menu interaction, which adds up to approximately 4 hours of life saved over a full completion run. Also, the EV/IV viewer is integrated. I don't have to guess if my Ralts has trash stats anymore. I can see the numbers. I can judge it. I can box it.
ANOMALIES AND RESTRICTED ZONES
There is a blip on the radar regarding the "Orre Region." My map shows the coordinates, but the borders are currently sealed. It seems this iteration is a prelude to a larger operation (Project Ruby 2). While the main Hoenn campaign is fully traversable and the threat level has been raised (Gym Leaders actually switch Pokemon now, watch out), the post-game expansion into Orre is currently designated as "Coming Soon." For a completionist, seeing a locked door is painful, but the content within the main borders is rich enough to satisfy the itch.
COMBAT ANALYTICS
Hostile entities are using Gen 7 logic. Abilities like Compound Eyes and Synchronize work in the overworld. This is critical for nature hunting. I synchronized a Modest Gardevoir on the first try. The RNG gods are pleased.
FINAL LOG
This isn't just a facelift; it's a mechanical tune-up. The inclusion of Gen 4 evolutions and the Link Cable functionality means I don't have to beg someone to trade with me to get a Alakazam. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. If you need to fill boxes and optimize IVs without the headache of 2002 mechanics, this is the simulation to run.
