THE AESTHETIC ANOMALIES
Visually, the region of RogueFeu New2 is trying to communicate. The local architecture (tilesets) and the inhabitants (sprites) have been overhauled. It's not standard Kanto drab. The custom trainer battle music acts as a nice auditory stimulant, keeping the adrenaline high during the few engagements available. But visuals don't fill the Dex, do they? You can paint a wall pretty, but if I can't catch a pseudo-legendary behind it, what is the point?
THREAT LEVEL: PUZZLE PERIL
The Gym Leaders here aren't just trainers; they are architects of confusion. The puzzles are significantly more complex than standard regulation. I spent forty minutes sliding on ice tiles.

THE COMPLETIONIST'S NIGHTMARE
Here is the tragedy. I wanted to love it. I wanted to hunt. But you cannot hunt in a cage this small. I looked for the amenities. I checked the marts. I prayed to the RNG gods. But the infrastructure is missing.

I wish I could tell you that the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. But I never found a Department Store. I never found the mid-game. I barely found my footing before the credits—or the crash—rolled.

100% completion took me 4 hours. And that includes the time I spent staring at the boundary of the map, willing more content to appear. It didn't. This is an abandoned timeline. A fossil of a beta from 2018 that never evolved.
