MISSION LOG: ENTRY #001 - THE "REVENGE" SECTOR
I packed for a long haul. I brought 999 Ultra Balls, a stack of Max Repels, and my specialized spreadsheet for tracking Hidden Ability distributions. I was ready to grind. I was ready to fill boxes. But Headquarters sent me to a region designated "Pre Beta 0.01". Do you know what that does to a man who needs closure? It causes palpitations. It causes me to break out in hives.
My Pokedex is currently sitting at a pathetic 2% completion, and it's not because I lack skill. It's because the world literally ends after a few towns. I am looking at a map that fades into the void.
THE ECOSYSTEM: PROMISES VS. REALITY
The intel promised species ranging from Gen I to Gen VI. I saw the new sprites—the local fauna looks crisp, I'll give the terraformers (devs) credit for the visual overhaul. The tilesets are fresh, giving the region a distinct, darker vibe suitable for a narrative about "revenge." But as an Explorer, I need density. I need catch variety.
I encountered several anomalies where the local geometry wasn't fully rendered. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before you do anything. The stability of this dimension is questionable at best. In its current state, I cannot confirm if a Living Dex is possible without cheats. The habitat data is simply too sparse.
THREAT LEVEL & MECHANICS
The hostile entities (Trainers) here are angry. The narrative is heavy on retribution, which is a nice change of pace from the usual "let's be friends" rhetoric of the Kanto sector. However, the progression is stunted. I attempted to grind for evolution levels, but without a confirmed Elite Four or Champion in this version, the neurological reward of seeing that "Hall of Fame" screen is absent.
FIELD NOTE: Do not get attached to your save file. In regions designated "Pre Beta," world wipes are common during updates.
CONCLUSION
Usually, I'd brag that 100% completion took me 85 hours. Here? 100% completion of the available content took me about 45 minutes. It's a teaser. A fragment. The potential is there—Gen 6 mechanics in a FireRed engine are always a W—but until the borders open up and the version number hits at least 1.0, my Pokedex remains sadly, frustratingly empty.
