LOG ENTRY: AEVIUM SECTOR
Timestamp: Day 41, 03:00 Hours
Location: GDC (Grand Dream City) - Apartment Complex
Status: Sleep Deprived. Pokedex at 82%. Caffeine reserves critical.
I need everyone to listen to me very carefully. The Aevium region is not a game. It is a neurological hazard for people like me. I dropped into this zone expecting a standard 8-Gym romp. What I found was a sprawling, episodic nightmare of content density that has me hyperventilating. We are talking about a region that hosts all 898 known species plus local "Aevian" regional variants. My spreadsheet is currently 400 rows deep and I haven't even organized the box sorting system yet.
THE CATCH (LITERALLY)
Let's get the dopamine triggers out of the way first. Living Dex is possible without cheats. I repeat: You can obtain the entire roster. The local technology allows for "Link Hearts" to bypass trade evolutions, meaning I don't have to rely on a patchy connection to headquarters to get my Gengar. The sheer variety here is staggering. You want a Gen 8 starter? You got it. You want to hunt a specific Aevian Misdreavus that types differently? It's here.
The shiny rate has been tweaked. It's generous enough to keep you hunting but rare enough to matter. I spent six hours in the Gearen Sewers just because the custom shiny palette for the local grime-dwellers looked distinct. I can't help myself.
THREAT ASSESSMENT: FIELD EFFECTS
The hostile entities in Aevium do not play by League regulation rules. They utilize a phenomenon called "Field Effects." I walked into a Gym expecting a standard Water-type matchup, and suddenly the floor was electrified, boosting Electric moves and grounding my Flying-types. It forces you to actually think rather than just spamming Earthquake.
FIELD NOTE: Do not ignore the "Crest" items. I found a Crest that turns a useless Ledian into a physical sweeper. This is vital for the Living Dex; it gives purpose to the trash mobs.
THE MISSABLE ANXIETY
Here is where I start sweating. This region operates on a "Karma" system and Relationship Points. Your dialogue choices matter. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Or the castle. Or literally any room. I missed a specific interaction with an NPC named Melia and I am terrified it has locked me out of a sub-event 40 hours down the line. If you are a completionist, you need a guide open on a second monitor. Walking in blind is asking for a 99% completion rate, which is unacceptable.
QUALITY OF LIFE (QOL)
Despite the crushing difficulty, the local tech is advanced. Nature changing mints, Ability Capsules, and EV training facilities are accessible if you know where to look. The "AP" (Achievement Point) system rewards you for doing exactly what I do—filling the Dex—allowing you to buy rare items. It feeds the loop. I catch Pokemon, I get points, I buy items to catch more Pokemon.
MISSION VERDICT
100% completion took me 135 hours so far, and the region isn't even fully mapped yet (current intel suggests we are at Chapter 13.5 of a larger saga). The story is heavy, the battles are brutal, and the collection aspect is flawless. It scratches the itch in my brain that demands I own everything.
