MISSION LOG: REGION POLKA AQUA
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Location: Littleroot Outskirts (or what passes for it)
Status: Twitchy. Caffeinated. Obsessed.
I touched down in the Polka Aqua region expecting a standard Hoenn reskin. Negative. The local population is... distinct. I’m seeing entities that resemble characters from Earth's television broadcasts. Is that a sitcom dad running a Gym? I don't care. Do they have badges? Do they yield EXP? Then they are targets. My Pokedex counter is currently at 003/??? and the neurological itch has started. I need to catch them all, and this region is throwing everything from Gen 1 to Gen 6 at me.
THE CATCHABILITY INDEX
This is what matters. The local fauna is diverse. We have species from every generation roaming the tall grass. I spotted Fairy-types immediately, confirming the timeline has been updated to modern standards. But here is the critical intel for my fellow completionists: Living Dex is possible without cheats.
The local technology includes a device called the "Reverse Stone". Read that again. Reverse. Stone. It un-evolves Pokemon. Do you realize how much time this saves for a Living Dex? Caught a wild Charizard but missing the Charmander slot? De-evolve it. Breed it. It’s brilliant. It’s madness. I love it.
FIELD NOTE: Shiny Hunters, calibrate your sensors. The atmospheric readings indicate Increased Shiny Odds. I encountered a sparkly oddity within the first 3 hours. Custom palettes are in effect, so keep your eyes peeled for anomalous colorations.
QUALITY OF LIFE (QoL) REPORT
I almost cried when I opened my Key Items pocket. The natives have finally abandoned the barbaric practice of HM slavery. You get Key Items for Cut, Rock Smash, Strength, Dive, and Waterfall. My combat team is pure combat. No Bidoof required (unless, of course, Bidoof is the carry, which he always is).
Furthermore, the navigation protocols are streamlined. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. The prompt asks if you want to use another one immediately. No menu surfing. No breaking the chain. Just pure, uninterrupted movement.
THREAT LEVEL & POST-GAME
The Gym Leaders here are erratic. You can challenge them in Single or Double formats—the game flips a coin. It keeps you on your toes. I prepared a Singles team and got thrown into a Doubles match against a Leader using advanced tactics. Panic ensued. I survived.
The post-game is meaty. We are talking about infinite Gym Leader re-battles. This is crucial for grinding the team up to Level 100 for the final archives. There is a "Post-Game Gym with a Twist" rumored in the intercepted chatter. I haven't cleared it yet, but my spreadsheet is ready.
- Physical/Special Split: CONFIRMED.
- Reusable TMs: CONFIRMED.
- Trade Evolutions: Patched via Stones (Ice, Shiny, Dusk, Dawn added).
FINAL LOG ENTRY
The crossover story is bizarre—it feels like a fever dream where pop culture icons are forcing me to battle—but the mechanics are solid bedrock. The sheer volume of form changes and stat buffs means you have to relearn the meta. Don't assume you know a Pokemon's typing just by looking at it.
100% completion took me 85 hours. And I don't regret a single minute of it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to find the specific bush where the developer hid the starters.
