LOG ENTRY: 001-PESADILLA
LOCATION: Unknown Coordinates (Region: Pesadilla)
OPERATIVE: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
STATUS: Hyper-vigilant / Mildly Tachycardic
THE ATMOSPHERIC INTERFERENCE
I touched down in the Pesadilla sector expecting a standard safari. Instead, I found myself in a psychological anomaly. The intel promised a "Scary style", and for once, the brochure wasn't lying. The visual landscape is drenched in a gloom that makes identifying shiny sparkles a legitimate optic hazard. The local architecture has been overhauled with a grim, horror-centric aesthetic. It's effective, sure, but do you know how hard it is to spot a Zigzagoon in pitch blackness? It's a completionist's worst nightmareโliterally.
THE HUNTING GROUNDS (OR LACK THEREOF)
Here is the issue with horror-themed expeditions: they prioritize narrative tension over collection density. I spent hours sweeping the tall grass (which looks more like dead weeds here), and the encounter tables feel... sparse. This is built on the Ruby engine, and it shows its age like a fossil. We are talking old-school mechanics. No physical/special split detected. No modern repelling technology.
FIELD NOTE: The signal interception for this region was corrupted ([object Object]), which usually implies the local data structures are unstable. Tread carefully.
The narrative pushes you forward, often locking doors behind you to induce panic. This is a 0/10 design choice for a Collector. I need to backtrack! I need to re-check that bush! Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Seriously. The scripting here is aggressive. If you trigger a cutscene without saving, you might permanently lose access to a map sector. I missed a potential item drop because a ghost chased me out of a room. Unacceptable.
DATA COLLECTION REPORT
Despite the hostile environment, my compulsion forced me to scour every pixel of this darkened hellscape. 100% completion took me 85 hours. A significant portion of that time was spent squinting at the Game Boy Advance screen trying to navigate invisible mazes. The "Great game storyline" mentioned in the briefing is present, but it comes at the cost of exploration freedom.
Is the Pokedex complete? Living Dex is possible without cheats. However, it requires a level of patience that borders on masochism given the Ruby-era encounter rates and the oppressive atmosphere. There is no DexNav here to save you. You are hunting blind.
FINAL ANALYSIS
Pokemon Pesadilla is an interesting anomaly for the archives, but it functions more as a haunted house attraction than a viable hunting ground. The "scary" graphics are a nice novelty, but the lack of QoL features (Quality of Life) makes the grind excruciating. I have logged the data, but I am not returning for a shiny badge quest.
