LOG ENTRY: THE SINNOH SIMULATION
Touchdown in the Perla Sector. My GPS indicates this is a reconstruction of the Sinnoh region, but the underlying physics engine is unmistakably Hoenn-era (Ruby v1.0). The atmosphere is thick with nostalgia, but my sensors detect a heavy language barrier: the entire region speaks Italian. Bene. I can work with this. As long as the Pokedex numbers go up, I don't care if the text is in binary.
VISUAL RECONNAISSANCE
The visual landscape attempts to replicate the DS-era Sinnoh using GBA technology. It is a fascinating, if slightly unstable, mimicry. The sprites for the local fauna (Gen 4 Pokemon) have been retrofitted into the ecosystem. Seeing a Chimchar in this resolution triggers a dopamine response, but the lack of animation fluidity is noticeable.
FIELD NOTE: The combat mechanics are archaic. We are operating on pre-Physical/Special split rules. Do not attempt to use a Sneasel; its Ice attacks are uselessly Special here. Adjust your team composition accordingly.
THE HUNT: CATCHABILITY ANALYSIS
I have been tracking spawn tables for three days straight. My eyes are bleeding, but the spreadsheet is filling up. The distribution of species is chaotic. You will find Sinnoh natives mixed with Hoenn refugees in illogical patterns. Is it messy? Yes. Do I love the chaos? absolutely.
However, the infrastructure for a completionist is lacking. There are no modern amenities here. No nature changers, no IV scanners. It is a raw, unadulterated grind. 100% completion took me 85 hours. A significant portion of that was spent navigating the map without a proper guide, as the local cartography (Town Map) is glitchy.
ANOMALIES AND THREATS
The scripting in this region is fragile. I encountered several anomalies where NPCs would freeze or dialogue would loop. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Specifically, the events involving the distortion world equivalents can soft-lock your device if you trigger them in the wrong sequence.
MISSION DEBRIEF
Is the Pokedex completable? Living Dex is possible without cheats. ...Technically. But you will need patience of steel and a translation guide if you aren't fluent in the local dialect. It is not the definitive Sinnoh experience, but for a historian of the ROM World, it is a curious artifact.
