MISSION REPORT: POKEMON PALLADIUM

Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
Expedition Duration: 23 hours, 47 minutes
Pokedex Completion: 67.3% (INCOMPLETE - SEE BELOW)
Status: MISSION COMPROMISED

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

Okay. OKAY. Let me just— breathes into paper bag —let me explain what happened here. I entered the Renon region with my spreadsheet ready, my Link Cable tracker primed, and my soul prepared for another 80+ hour grind to that sweet, sweet 100%. What I got instead was a beta build that cut my expedition short like a Hyper Beam to the face.

No Trade Evolutions. That's listed in the regional features. Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. Actually, scratch that—I couldn't even FIND a Department Store in Renon before the content ran dry. The de-evolution stones? The trade items? I have no confirmation they exist because this expedition hit a wall.

THE LANDSCAPE

Two regions promised: Renon and Sonata. The Renon territory features custom tilework that's genuinely refreshing—new building designs, altered vegetation patterns, the works. The Day/Night cycle functions correctly, which matters for spawn tables. I was tracking nocturnal encounters in my spreadsheet when I realized... there's not enough content here to justify the tracking.

The visual landscape is distinct from standard Kanto sector operations. FireShock clearly put effort into environmental design. But pretty tiles don't fill Pokedex slots, and empty Pokedex slots make me physically uncomfortable.

POKEDEX ANALYSIS

Here's where my brain started short-circuiting. The regional Pokedex appears to pull from multiple generations, but I couldn't establish a complete species manifest. Why? Beta 1 limitations. Routes cut off. Areas inaccessible. NPCs referencing locations that don't exist yet.

MISSABLE EVENT WARNING! Actually, no—I can't even confirm what's missable because I don't know what's SUPPOSED to be here. This is worse than missable events. This is UNKNOWABLE events.

Living Dex is possible without cheats? CANNOT CONFIRM. The expedition terminated before I could verify full species availability. My spreadsheet has more question marks than a Wobbuffet convention.

QUALITY OF LIFE PHENOMENA

What I did observe:

  • De-capitalization implemented (PIKACHU → Pikachu). Minor but appreciated.
  • Mini-games exist in some capacity—encountered one involving a timing mechanism.
  • The Renon Tournament is referenced but I couldn't access full functionality.
  • No infinite Repel system detected. Manual application required.

What I couldn't observe:

  • Post-game content (didn't reach it)
  • Shiny hunting methodology (no DexNav equivalent detected)
  • Complete evolution stone availability
  • Full regional map access

THREAT LEVEL ASSESSMENT

Difficulty seemed moderate during accessible content. Trainer AI didn't display advanced tactical behavior. Wild encounter levels scaled appropriately for route progression. But I can't give you a complete threat analysis when I only saw maybe 40% of intended content.

THE HARD TRUTH

This hack was last updated February 28, 2017. That's not a typo. 2017. The "Beta 1" designation appears to be permanent. No version 2. No completion update. The Sonata region? Probably exists only in FireShock's design documents.

I spent 23 hours, 47 minutes chasing a 100% completion that cannot exist. My Pokedex sits at 67.3% with no path forward. Do you understand what that does to someone like me? That's not a completion percentage. That's a wound.

NOTE TO FUTURE EXPLORERS: This is an abandoned expedition site. Enter only if you're comfortable with permanent incompletion. I am not comfortable. I am the opposite of comfortable.

FINAL FIELD NOTES

The bones of something good exist here. Custom regions, quality tilework, QoL attempts like trade evolution removal. FireShock had vision. But vision without completion is just a really detailed hallucination.

If this were finished? If someone picked up development? We might be looking at a 3.5 or 4.0 rating. The foundation suggests competent design philosophy.

But it's not finished. It will likely never be finished. And my spreadsheet will forever have a Palladium tab with cells highlighted in angry red.

Completion Status: IMPOSSIBLE
Recommended Action: Wait for update (unlikely) or avoid entirely
Personal Damage: Moderate psychological distress

Pokemon Palladium is awesome but random battles are too quick, like every 2 steps.
