LOG ENTRY: 0700 HOURS - PALLET TOWN (OR WHAT'S LEFT OF IT)
I was promised a return to Kanto. A simple survey mission. I packed my Lucky Egg and my sturdy boots. But the moment I stepped off the S.S. Anne into this region known as Omega Origins, I knew something was wrong with the timeline. The trees look different—too sharp, too detailed. Intelligence calls it "NDS Style Graphics." I call it unnecessary. It lacks the grit of the old world. Give me a blocky tree I can chop down, not these high-definition shrubs.
THE ECOLOGICAL DISASTER
I walked into Route 1 expecting Pidgeys and Rattatas. Instead, I was assaulted by creatures that have no business existing in this timeline. Seven generations of species crammed into one ecosystem? It's unnatural. I saw a frog that looked like it was wearing a ninja costume—some sort of "Ash Greninja." Too many modern features ruined the vibe. Back in my day, water starters were turtles with cannons, and we were happy!
And don't get me started on the "Fairy" types. I tried to use a Dragon Claw on a pink puffball, and it did nothing. Absolutely nothing! What is a 'Mega' evolution? Sounds broken. Or this Ash-Greninja nonsense? It's all just power creep to distract from the lack of fundamentals.
TECHNOLOGICAL ANOMALIES
It's not all bad news, I suppose. The local technology has advanced in ways that don't make my knees hurt. They've implemented a separation of Physical and Special attacks—finally, my Hitmonchan can actually punch things effectively. And the Technical Machines (TMs) don't break after one use. That's just good economics. In that regard, moving around feels just like 1999 (but faster).
FIELD NOTE: The wild encounters appear unstable. Reports indicate a "Randomized" element to the local fauna. If you see a Legendary beast on Route 2, run. Do not engage.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This isn't the Kanto I remember. It's a chaotic remix designed for the young ones with short attention spans who need 800 monsters to stay interested. It functions, the engine is stable, but it lacks the soul of the originals. I'm packing up my camp and heading back to a region that respects the 151.
