LOG ENTRY: CHRONO-DISPLACEMENT
Location: New Bark Town (Temporal Variance: +100 Years)
Status: Hyper-fixated
Pokedex Completion: 003/251 (Current)
Headquarters, update your database immediately. The briefing dossier listed this as a FireRed simulation, but field reality confirms a pure Game Boy Color architecture. The pixels are crunchy, the audio is chiptune, and I am absolutely vibrating with excitement. I’ve landed in a timeline where Johto has gone full sci-fi. Teleporters everywhere. Walking is obsolete? My step-counter is going to ruin my egg-hatching efficiency metrics if I don't figure this out.
THE ROSTER ANOMALY
I booted up the capture sequence expecting the standard Cyndaquil-Totodile-Chikorita trifecta. Negative. The local Professor (who seems to have replaced Elm with a hologram or a descendant) offered me Houndour, Natu, or Mankey. A Dark/Fire type right out of the gate? I grabbed the Houndour immediately. It's a bold shift in the early-game meta, but it makes the early grind against the local fauna feel fresh.
NOTE: The wild encounters have shifted. Pidgeys are out; robotic efficiency seems to have displaced some organic life, though the tall grass still hides secrets. Keep your balls ready.
INFRASTRUCTURE & QOL
The region is unrecognizable. The map data is corrupt—or rather, evolved. There are new vertical threats: the Flash Tower, Tech Tower, and Tower of Defense. I spent 4 hours in the Tech Tower just analyzing the encounter tables. The density of electric types there is staggering.
However, I have concerns about the "Catchability". With trade evolutions usually rampant in this era, I was sweating bullets looking for a solution. I haven't found a definitive "Link Cable" item vendor yet, which is making my eyelid twitch. Living Dex is possible without cheats only if the creator patched the trade evos to level-up triggers. I'm currently stuck with a Haunter that refuses to evolve. It's maddening.
THE GYM CIRCUIT
The Gym Leaders have diversified their portfolios. Brock running a museum? Misty managing a harbor? It adds flavor, but the difficulty spike is real. They aren't just using brute force; their movesets are updated. I nearly wiped to Surge's restaurant-themed electric onslaught. Strategy is required, not just over-leveling.
FINAL OBSERVATIONS
The "Teleport" system is convenient but disorienting. I missed three hidden items because I warped past the route. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave north of the new Blackthorn sector; the triggers there are finicky and I almost locked myself out of a legendary encounter. I don't sleep until I verify the catch rate.
100% completion took me 85 hours, largely due to mapping out the new dungeon layouts without a guide. It's a chaotic, futuristic mess, but the urge to catalog this new timeline is overwhelming.
