LOG ENTRY: THE CLOWN CAR REGION
Location: Pallet Town (Distorted) | Local Time: 03:42 AM
Current Pokedex: 14/??? | Sanity: 45%
I don't know what I walked into. Headquarters briefed me on "Pokemon New Era," promising a FireRed base with Gen 6 biology. I packed my spreadsheets, calibrated my RNG timer, and prepared for a standard 100% run. What I found was a fever dream.
The local inhabitants don't speak like normal NPCs. They're... trying to be funny? It's unsettling. I approached a Youngster for intel on route encounters, and he cracked a fourth-wall joke about the developer. Immersion compromised. But I'm a professional. I don't care if the Gym Leader is wearing a clown nose; if they have a Badge, I'm taking it.
THE BIOLOGICAL SURVEY (POKEDEX)
The biodiversity here is chaotic. We have confirmed sightings of species up to Generation 6, which usually triggers my dopamine receptors. I saw a Fennekin in a zone that should be Rattata territory. My pulse spiked. Gotta. Catch. Them. All.
However, the ecosystem feels unstable. The "Beta 1.0" barrier is a physical wall in this reality. I spent four hours grinding specifically to see if the trade evolutions were patched.
FIELD NOTE: I attempted to verify if the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W.—or so I hoped. The marts here are inconsistent. Stock up on Poke Balls whenever you can; supply lines are unreliable.
ANOMALIES AND THREATS
The landscape (Tilesets) has been terraformed. It doesn't look like Kanto, which is refreshing, but the collision data is slippery. I walked into a tree and nearly clipped into the void. The "Comedy" tag in the briefing wasn't a genre; it was a warning. The dialogue is the real enemy here, constantly breaking the tension of the hunt.
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Any cave. The scripting in this region is volatile. I encountered a script loop near Mt. Moon that almost corrupted my save file. A corrupted save means a 0% Pokedex. I broke out in a cold sweat.
THE VERDICT
I cannot work under these conditions. A Completionist needs certainty. I need to know that slot #658 is attainable. In this "New Era," the laws of physics (and game design) are too fluid. I suspect a Living Dex is possible without cheats only if you consider "glitch artifacts" as Pokemon, which I do not.
100% completion took me 12 hours—not because I finished, but because the road ran out. The Beta wall is undefeated. Until the architect (Monkey TV) returns to finish the construction, this region is a curiosity, not a destination.
