LOG ENTRY: NEW EMERALD SECTOR

Current Pokedex Status: 386/386 (FINALLY)
THE COMPLETIONIST'S MANDATE
I arrived in this region with one goal: The National Dex. No excuses. No "waiting for an event." No "trade with a friend." Just me, my Poke Balls, and a neurological inability to stop until the numbers align. The local authorities (Creator: igorfs10) promised total availability, and they delivered. Living Dex is possible without cheats. I repeat: Without. Cheats. Seeing Deoxys and Jirachi available through legitimate in-world events rather than dusty cheat codes brought a tear to my eye. Or maybe that was just sleep deprivation.
LOCAL TECHNOLOGY & QoL UPGRADES
The technological advancements in this iteration of Hoenn are staggering. The local marts have finally figured out supply chain logistics. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. No more menu spamming every 100 steps. It asks if you want to use another one automatically. It’s elegant. It’s efficient. It saved me approximately 45 minutes of menu navigation over the course of the expedition.
Furthermore, the Technical Machine (TM) durability issue has been patched. TMs are reusable. HMs are forgettable. I didn't have to ruin my Swampert's move set with Rock Smash permanently. The "Devon Scope" tech also allows for direct viewing of EVs and IVs. I spent 4 hours just staring at stats. It's beautiful.
ANOMALIES & SHINY REPORT
Here is where things get interesting for the collectors. I engaged in standard NPC trades, expecting the usual mediocre returns. Instead? Gold. Literally. The local trade culture dictates that all swapped Pokemon are Shiny with perfect genetics (Perfect IVs). This is a massive boon for the Living Shiny Dex.
FIELD NOTE: Do not skip the in-game trades. They are guaranteed Shinies. I almost missed the Seedot trade because I was rushing. Don't be me.
Another fascinating phenomenon: Double Wild Battles. Wild encounters frequently occur in pairs. This doubles the catch rate efficiency and accelerates EV training significantly. It’s chaotic, but for a hunter of my caliber, it’s just more targets.
THE ENDGAME
The region has removed Pokemon Contests entirely. While some historians might mourn the loss of culture, I view it as streamlined efficiency. Less ribbon polishing, more battling. Speaking of battling, the Post-game is massive. Battle Frontier included. It's the classic Emerald experience but with the entire roster of 386 accessible. I unlocked Mirage Island immediately after the Elite 4—no random number generation required. That is how you reward a champion.
100% completion took me 68 hours. And every second was productive. No dead ends. No missing slots.
