LOG ENTRY: THE ALPINE ANOMALY
Timestamp: 04:00 Hours. Location: Alpine Region, Palette Town Periphery.
Pokedex Status: 0/???
Blood Pressure: Elevated.
I touched down in the Alpine Region with one goal: Assimilate the local fauna into my storage boxes. The mission briefing claimed this sector was "Completed," yet the firmware version reads "Beta 1." Do you know what that does to a completionist? It induces panic. Is the National Dex functional? Is slot #151 legally obtainable? I don't sleep until I know.
THE CATCHING LANDSCAPE
The local technology—specifically the "Smart Screen" IV Checker—is a godsend for filtering out genetically inferior specimens. I don't just want a Charizard; I want a perfect Charizard. The region also boasts an EXP Multiplier phenomenon. This accelerated the evolution process significantly, cutting down the grind time. I evolved my starter before the second gym. Efficiency is key when you have hundreds of slots to fill.
However, the biodiversity is confusing. Reports indicate Mega Evolution capability for Gen 1 and 2 species only. This selective mutation limits the scope of my Living Dex. I spent three hours in the tall grass looking for Gen 3 variants, only to realize they might not exist here. My spreadsheet is currently a mess of red ink.
ANOMALIES AND THREATS
The hostile entity known as "Team Orders" is a nuisance, constantly interrupting my shiny hunting sessions with generic world-domination monologues. But the real threat is the stability of the region itself. The text dialects are rough—local NPCs speak in broken syntax. It breaks immersion when I'm trying to determine if a trade evolution is possible.
FIELD NOTE: Regarding the "Secret Legend" mentioned in the briefing... Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I walked in unprepared and nearly knocked it out with a critical hit. If I hadn't soft-reset, that Pokedex slot would have remained empty forever. Unacceptable.
QUALITY OF LIFE REPORT
I have to give credit where it's due: getting the Running Shoes and Fly capability early is a massive victory for backtracking. It allows me to re-sweep early routes for missed encounters efficiently. However, I am desperate for more modern amenities. I searched every mart, praying the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. if it was, but I couldn't confirm its stock in this Beta build. I'm currently stuck with a Haunter that refuses to evolve. It mocks me.
Also, where is my spray? I yearn for a continuous repellant. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. This feature is absent here, forcing me to manually re-apply standard Repels every 100 steps. It's primitive.
FINAL LOG
Current Playtime: 12 Hours, 43 Minutes.
Completion: 45% (Estimated).
The "Beta 1" tag is the Sword of Damocles hanging over this expedition. The game is playable, the difficulty is spiked enough to keep me awake, but the fear of a corrupted save or an unfinished Pokedex prevents me from fully committing. I'm filing this under "Pending Investigation."
