LOG START: 400% SPEED RUN // LARMOG REGION
Yo, fam. Glitch City Kid here, reporting live from my emulator running at speeds that would make a Deoxys nauseous. I just touched down in the Larmog Region (Pokemon Navyblue), and let me tell you, the vibes are immaculate...ly chaotic. The intel on this place was literally [object Object], so I went in blind, expecting a crash course in jank. I was not disappointed.
THE LORE: ANCIENT KING OR ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE?
So, get this: the plot is about some King from 3,000 years ago who wanted to awake a legendary Pokemon (standard procedure), but now he's back? And I'm a 12-year-old kid who has to investigate why this boomer refuses to stay dead? Dialogue is pure brainrot (complimentary). It feels like the writer watched the AZ cutscene from X/Y and said, "Bet, but make it FireRed and crusty."
I love it. The text boxes sometimes feel like they're struggling to contain the sheer weight of the exposition. It gives me major Vietnam Crystal flashbacks. "TRASHY STROLL" energy is high here.
THE BIODIVERSITY: MS PAINT MASTERPIECES
The briefing promised 175 Fakemon. In the field, this manifests as a fever dream. We've got creatures that look like they were drawn by a sentient AI trying to interpret a Pokedex description from memory.
- The Starters: Looked like regional variants of my sleep paralysis demons.
- The Typing: New types were promised. I saw things that defy the type chart. Is that a Light type? A Glitch type? Who knows!
Fakemon designs are fire (literally). Like, one of them was just on fire. No texture, just red pixels. Absolute cinema. If you're looking for Ken Sugimori polish, look elsewhere. If you're looking for creatures that make you question the nature of reality, welcome home.
ANOMALY REPORT: BETA 1.0 REALNESS
Since this is a Beta 1.0, the world is held together by duct tape and prayers. I found walls I could walk through (shortcuts, obviously) and tiles that sent me to the void.
NOTE: If the music stops playing, do not save. The void is calling.
My emulator crashed twice. Loved it. It's that specific flavor of instability that keeps you on your toes. It’s not a bug, it’s a surprise difficulty spike. The "King" appearing out of nowhere feels less like a plot point and more like the ROM trying to exorcise itself.
VERDICT: A BEAUTIFUL MESS
Pokemon Navyblue is not "good" in the traditional sense. It's an experience. It's a Beta that feels like an archaeology dig into the mid-2000s ROM hacking scene. It's rough, the English is questionable, and the Fakemon are unhinged.
Don't play this seriously. Just don't. Grab some snacks, crank the speed up, and laugh at the absurdity of a 3,000-year-old king beefing with a pre-teen in a region that barely loads its textures.
