MISSION LOG: REGION N-LATIOS (UNOVA SECTOR)
Explorer Identity: DexHunter Ace
Current Pokedex Count: 649... plus anomalies.
Sanity Level: 42%
THE DATABASE CORRUPTION (POKEDEX STATUS)
I landed in this variation of the Unova region expecting a standard retrieval mission. White 2 base? Excellent. The habitat list is usually stable. But then I saw them. The intel mentioned "Fakes". My Pokedex is throwing error codes. These aren't just regional variants; they are undocumented genetic splices wandering the tall grass alongside standard Gen 1-5 fauna.
For a completionist, this is a nightmare scenario. How do I categorize a creature that doesn't exist in the National Dex? I spent six hours in Route 19 just trying to figure out if the "Fake" I caught was a shiny or its base form. Living Dex is possible without cheats, but you're going to need a separate box labeled "abominations" to keep your organization clean. The OCD is flaring up. I need to know their catch rates. I need data!
TACTICAL OVERVIEW: THE EEVEE PROTOCOL
Standard issue starters were confiscated at the border. Instead, I was issued an Eevee. But this isn't your standard Normal-type fluffball. This unit came pre-loaded with Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower. It’s a walking coverage machine.
FIELD NOTE: Do not evolve the Starter Eevee until you are absolutely certain. Its move pool is the only thing standing between you and the increased Threat Level of the Gym Leaders.
The local Gym Leaders have ramped up their AI routines. They aren't playing around. Having a BoltBeam Eevee early on is the only reason I didn't wipe on the second badge. It feels less like a natural bond and more like I was handed a military-grade weapon to survive a hostile warzone.
QUALITY OF LIFE & ANOMALIES
The navigation systems are standard Unova Tech, which is a relief. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. Okay, it's the standard B2W2 prompt system, but when you are chaining encounters looking for these "Fake" species, that prompt is the only thing keeping me from losing my mind. The visual landscape is described as "Beautiful" in the briefing, but my sensors detect a mix of high-fidelity environments and jarring sprite injections for the new species.
I have scoured every pixel of this region. 100% completion took me 85 hours. A significant portion of that was spent trying to understand the spawn tables for the fakemons. There is no documentation. You are flying blind. If you miss a capture in a one-time area, you might be locked out of 100%. That thought keeps me awake at night.
FINAL LOG ENTRY
This region is a chaotic mix of polished Unova mechanics and chaotic, undocumented wildlife. It scratches the itch if you are desperate for new entries, but the lack of a coherent taxonomy for the new species is stressful. I'm packing up my boxes. I need to organize my PC. Slot #000 is looking at me funny.
