MISSION LOG: DAY 1 - THE PANIC SETS IN
My hands are shaking. The Pokédex counter reads 0. Zero. Null. Do you have any idea what that does to my blood pressure? I just touched down in the Lost Legacy region, and the emptiness of my storage boxes is screaming at me. Headquarters says this region is built on a FireRed foundation, but the local architecture feels... alien. Lush. Overgrown. The maps are incredibly naturalistic—no grid-like paths here. It’s beautiful, sure, but do you know how hard it is to check every single tile for hidden items when the grass doesn't align to a grid? I’m going to need more coffee.
THE HUNTING GROUNDS
I've spent the last 12 hours combing the tall grass. The biodiversity here is fascinating. We've got new starters—not the standard Kanto trio—which immediately throws my spreadsheet out the window. I spotted a Rotom buzzing around early on. A Rotom! Usually, you have to wait for post-game or trade for that electrical ghost. Finding one this early? Huge W.
However, the locals are hostile. The Gym Leaders aren't just standing there waiting to hand over badges; they use advanced tactics. I actually had to strategize instead of just spamming A. And don't get me started on the "Black Markets". Shady characters selling rare goods? I bought everything. If it fills a slot in the bag, I need it.
QUALITY OF LIFE: THE HOLY GRAIL
Let's talk about the tech in this region because it is sublime. I almost cried when I found the local repellent technology. Best QoL: Infinite Repel system. Do you understand? No more menu surfing every 100 steps. I can hunt uninterrupted. It’s pure efficiency.
Also, the local toxicology works differently. Poison leaves you at 1 HP outside of battle. No more screen flickering, no more panic runs to the Pokémon Center while my screen flashes like a disco. It lets me focus on what matters: The Catch.
FIELD NOTE: There are stealth sections. Yes, actual stealth. I'm here to catch monsters, not play spy, but you have to adapt. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. If you fail the stealth check, you might get kicked out of the area, and I am NOT risking a missed item.
ANOMALIES AND GLITCHES
The region is tagged as "Alpha" in some databases but feels "Complete" in others. It's a Schrödinger's Cat of a ROM. I didn't encounter game-breaking fractures in reality, but the midis have been swapped out. The audio landscape is fresh, not the same old trumpets we're used to. It keeps the madness at bay while I grind for levels.
FINAL TALLY
I'm currently sitting at 45% completion. The "Living Dex" is possible without cheats, or at least it seems that way so far—I haven't hit a hard wall yet. The infinite TMs (MTs) mean I don't have to hoard technical machines like a dragon hoarding gold. I can actually use them. A revolutionary concept.
- Pokedex Count: 152/??? (Still counting, send help)
- Shiny Count: 0 (The RNG gods have forsaken me)
