LOG ENTRY: THE "LIMITED" ANOMALY
I’ve touched down in the Boss Bash Bonanza sector, and my DexNav is giving me readings that make me want to hyperventilate. 75 species. Total. That’s it. I checked the batteries. I recalibrated the sensors. I hit the device against a rock. The reading didn't change. For a man who doesn't sleep until the counter hits 493 (or 898, depending on the timeline), this is psychological torture. It’s like walking into a buffet and finding out they only serve protein bars.
However, I must report that the efficiency of this region is... oddly satisfying. The local reality distortion field has removed all "fluff." No evil teams monologuing about expanding the landmass. No fetch quests for lost spectacles. You land, you fight, you conquer. It's a speedrunner's paradise, even if it leaves my collector's heart feeling hollow.
BIO-DIVERSITY & CATCHABILITY
Let's address the Phanpy in the room. The local fauna has been culled to a specific, combat-ready list. On the bright side, this means no filler mons. Every catch is viable. Because of the small population size, a Living Dex is possible without cheats, and I had the boxes organized by color gradient within the first three hours. It’s a completionist's sprint rather than a marathon. I caught them all, but I’m still twitching. I need more slots to fill.
TACTICAL LANDSCAPE & ECONOMY
This isn't a vacation; it's a war zone. The Gym Leaders here don't play by the "use Tackle until you win" rulebook. They use competitive strategies, held items, and synergies that made me actually open my damage calculator spreadsheet. The region is open-world—you can tackle threats in any order. This freedom is terrifying.
NOTE: Resources are finite. The Marts stock high-tier military-grade gear, but your wallet is thin. Do not buy 50 Potions out of habit.
I nearly bricked my run by overspending on Revives. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave of capitalism (the PokéMart). If you blow your budget on the wrong TMs, you will find yourself bringing a Magikarp to a Mega Rayquaza fight. Speaking of which, the evolution mechanics are modernized. No trade restrictions here. I found the necessary catalysts easily. The Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. seeing as I have no friends to trade with in this desolate, combat-focused timeline.
THE VERDICT
I finished the census. 100%. It took a fraction of the usual time, and my thumbs are still itching for more encounters. The QoL is off the charts—no grinding, instant access to critical areas—but the lack of a sprawling post-game hunt leaves me staring at my completed save file with a mix of pride and existential dread. It's a perfect tactical exercise, but a short expedition.
