LOG ENTRY: DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN KARTON
My boots just touched the soil of the Karton Region. My Pokedex is currently reading 0/??? and my palms are already itching. The atmosphere here is strangeโmy sensors indicate a visual fidelity reminiscent of the Sinnoh sector (Gen 4 tilesets), yet the underlying physics engine feels distinctly familiar to the Hoenn or Kanto GBA architectures. It's a jarring but beautiful juxtaposition. The landscape is vibrant, unlike anything in the standard Kanto sector.
THE RIVALRY DYNAMIC
Standard operating procedure usually dictates a single antagonist to keep my pace up. Here, I've been assigned two rivals. This increases the threat level significantly. I barely had time to catalog my starter before I was pincered. Efficient for XP grinding, but stressful for Nuzlocke protocols. The local trainers aren't messing around with stat inflation, either. Hostile entities proved extremely dangerous because their stats mirror EV-trained rosters. No artificial difficulty spikes, just pure, optimized math.
NOTE: Local intelligence claims this region is "More fun than the Gaia version." That is a massive claim. Gaia is a Tier-1 exploration zone. I'm keeping my expectations checked until I see the post-game.
THE CATCHABILITY REPORT
I've spent 45 hours scanning the grass, and I'm spotting anomalies. The biodiversity is high. The creators kept the base stats pureโno fan-fiction buffs here, thank Arceus. I don't need a Beedrill with 600 BST; I need a Beedrill that fills slot #015. However, the lack of intel on specific encounter tables is triggering my anxiety. I'm documenting everything manually.
POST-GAME EXPEDITION
The mission brief promised an "extra after-story region," and for once, the intel wasn't lying. Post-game is massive. Battle Frontier included. (Or at least, facilities that mimic its intensity). This is where the real hunt begins. I found areas locked behind completion barriers that would make a casual trainer weep. This is good. I need the hunt to last.
- Visuals: Gen 4 style tiles on a GBA engine. Crisp.
- Mechanics: Physical/Special split seems implicit in the modern feel.
- Completion Time: 100% completion took me 85 hours.
FINAL OBSERVATIONS
There is a distinct lack of documentation on legendary locations. I found a cave entrance that looked suspiciously like a one-time event. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I won't risk a 99% save file because I didn't stock up on Ultra Balls. The region is solid, but the claim of dethroning Gaia might be premature. Still, for a hunter like me, a new region with a full second map is like an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Living Dex is possible without cheats. At least, that's what my current progress suggests. If I find out the starters are version exclusives with no trading method, I'm burning this log.
