I haven't slept in two days. The Kanto region I knew is gone. This isn't the sunny adventure where you beat a Mafia boss with a Ratatta. This is a war zone. I've logged over 700 hostile encounters—my VS Seeker is practically melting from overuse. 100% completion took me 85 hours, and half of that was sweating over the new level caps.
THE CENSUS (POKEDEX & CATCHABILITY)
Let's get the most critical data out of the way: Living Dex is possible without cheats. The local biological laws have been altered so that trade-evolution species now mutate via Level Up. This is a massive relief for my anxiety. No more needing a second GBA to get a Gengar.
However, the evolutionary thresholds are absolutely manic. Mega Evolutions are treated as permanent biological shifts here, but they trigger between Level 72 and 95. Do you understand the grind required to hit Level 95 for a single Pokedex slot? I had to eradicate the local wildlife population just to see a Mega Charizard. It is a grind, but for a completionist, it is a necessary sacrifice.
THREAT LEVEL: EXTREME
The hostility in this region is off the charts. We aren't talking about standard Gym Leaders. The intel suggests over 740 trainers are active in the region. I encountered Gym Leaders using illegal movesets—"custom moves" designed to inflict trauma. It breaks the Geneva Convention of Pokemon battling, but it forces you to adapt.
WARNING: Team Rocket has deployed "Artificial Experiments". These are not standard species. Their base stats are anomalous. Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave or any Rocket facility, as these encounters can be brutal and I am unsure if they respawn if you faint them.
REGIONAL ANOMALIES
The topography has shifted. There is a ninth Gym in Viridian. The Seafoam Islands and Power Plant have been expanded with new events. It feels dense. Every corner I turned, expecting a dead end, had a new event or a new battle. It feeds the obsession, but it is exhausting.
Also, the 8 Hoenn Leaders have infiltrated the region. They are optional battles, but if you leave that box unchecked, are you really a Master? No. You beat them. You beat them all.

This expedition is not for the casual tourist. It is a grueling marathon through a militarized Kanto. The "custom moves" and stat changes might offend purist historians, but for a Hunter looking for density? It's a feast.
