MISSION LOG: DAY 1 - THE ANXIETY OF THE UNFINISHED
I touched down in the Inverse Alter sector expecting a twist on the standard Kanto topology. My heart rate was steady at 60 BPM, my spreadsheets were prepped, and I had my stylus ready. But let me tell you right now: nothing triggers my fight-or-flight response faster than the phrase "wild encounters are not finalized."
I am a man of precision. I need to know that if I walk into Route 1 with a 5% encounter rate, I will find a Pidgey. Here? It's the Wild West. The landscape is familiar—it's the FireRed engine, sturdy and reliable—but the ecosystem is in flux. I spent four hours headbutting trees just to verify the encounter tables. 100% completion took me 85 hours in the simulator, but in this field test? I'm paralyzed by the fear that slot #058 is simply missing from the code.
THE CATCH: A GLITCH IN THE MATRIX
The local Intel suggests that while the region is traversable, the population data is incomplete. For a casual tourist, this is fine. For DexHunter Ace? It's a nightmare scenario. I found the Rival entity behaving erratically—choosing different starter Pokemon than standard protocol dictates. This anomaly is interesting, sure, but without a documented encounter table, I cannot confirm if a Living Dex is possible without cheats.
FIELD NOTE: The biodiversity is unstable. Do not commit to a shiny hunt unless you have visually confirmed the species exists in the area first. I wasted 40 Max Repels on a hunch.
LOCAL TECHNOLOGY & QOL
There are some upgrades to the local tech. The TMs and HMs have been overclocked—base stats on these moves are increased. It makes the combat faster, punchier. It's a nice change of pace from the vanilla slog. However, the lack of modern amenities is glaring. I'm looking for a DexNav. I'm looking for an Infinite Repel toggle. I'm finding standard 2004-era hardware.
The overworld sprites have been updated, giving the region a fresh coat of paint, but visual fidelity doesn't fill the Pokedex. I need data. I need certainty.
THE VERDICT: INCOMPLETE DATA
Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Actually, save before you do anything. This is a Beta environment. The potential is there, and the "Inverse" concept (shifting rival choices and buffed moves) has merit, but until the wild encounters are finalized and the trainer rosters are locked in, I cannot in good conscience recommend this for a serious completionist run. I'm leaving this region with my Pokedex at 34% and my anxiety at 100%.
