LOG ENTRY: 0300 HOURS - THE REGION OF CHAOS

My Pokedex currently reads 98.2%. I haven't blinked in forty-five minutes. This region... it's not right. The cartography data said Kanto (FireRed Sector), but my GPS is picking up signals from Mauville City. Space-time is folding in on itself here.

I came for the completion. I stayed because the "Instant Death" protocol triggered my fight-or-flight response. This isn't just a leisure hike through Route 1; it's a survival horror scenario disguised as a creature collector.

THE ECOSYSTEM: GEN 6 ANOMALIES

The local fauna has been visually upgraded. We aren't looking at static pixel blobs anymore; the menu sprites have been updated to Generation 6 standards. It's a crisp, modern overlay on a chaotic world. But the real headline? Following Pokemon. Having my starter trail behind me provides a significant morale boost when the threat level spikes. It recalls the glory days of the HeartGold sector.

However, the biodiversity is erratic. The official dossier mentioned Mauville City Game Corner rewards. In a FireRed base? That's a spatial anomaly. I spent hours cross-referencing maps.

FIELD NOTE: The level-up movepools are heavily customized. Do not rely on your standard Wiki knowledge base. A Pidgey might pull a move you haven't seen since the Kalos incident.

THE GRIND: CATCHABILITY ASSESSMENT

I track everything. Every encounter slot. Every percentage. This hack claims to offer surprises, but for a completionist, "surprise" usually means "undocumented headache." I found the encounter rates punishing.

Living Dex is possible without cheats. barely. It requires an obsessive amount of backtracking and exploiting the "following" mechanics to trigger specific scripts. I had to maintain a spreadsheet just to track which customized moves were wiping my team.

THREAT LEVEL: INSTANT DEATH?

The title isn't entirely hyperbole. While it doesn't force a Nuzlocke delete-save on you, the difficulty curve is a vertical wall. The "Instant Death" moniker seems to refer to the punishment for lack of preparation.

WARNING: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. There are triggers in the post-game areas that feel like one-way trips. If you miss a Legendary here, it's gone. That is a 0/10 mechanic for me, but I salvaged the run with backup saves.

FINAL LOG

The resolution is weird—640x480? It feels like looking at the world through a magnifying glass. It’s disorienting. Between the map anomalies (Hoenn in Kanto?) and the high lethality, this expedition was exhausting.

100% completion took me 85 hours. And I hated about 20 of them. But the Dex is full. The itch is scratched. Now, I need to sleep for a week.
