I arrived in the Heart Red region with my standard-issue capture net and a supply of adrenaline, expecting a standard Kanto remixed simulation on the HeartGold engine. My goal was simple: Catalog everything. But as soon as I booted up the DexNav, I started sweating. The version number stamped on the region's fabric is Beta v0.4.7.6. Do you know what that means to a completionist? It means the horizon is a lie. It means the 100% completion medal is physically impossible to obtain. I haven't slept in two days trying to find a workaround.
THE ANOMALY: UNREGISTERED DNA
The local ecosystem is polluted. Headquarters mentioned "Fakemon", but seeing them in the field is a different beast. My Pokedex is spitting out error codes. These entities don't have National Dex numbers. How am I supposed to organize my boxes? Numerical order? Color? It's chaos. QUALITY OF LIFE & TECHNOLOGY
Despite the instability of this reality, there are glimmers of advanced civilization here. I managed to infiltrate a local mart and confirmed that the Link Cable item is available in Department Store. Huge W. for anyone trying to evolve a Gengar without social interaction. Furthermore, the rumors about stealth technology are true. The local physics engine allows you to "avoid almost every battle" if your timing is perfect. It's like the entire region has a built-in Best QoL: Infinite Repel system if you are skilled enough to dodge line-of-sight triggers.
THREAT LEVEL: UNSTABLE
The biggest threat here isn't the Gym Leaders; it's the fabric of reality dissolving. I encountered multiple zones where the textures flickered ominously.
FIELD NOTE: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. I lost 4 hours of progress when the game logic collapsed in on itself near Mt. Moon. Always keep a backup save state.
THE VERDICT
I wanted to love this expedition. I wanted to tell you that a Living Dex is possible without cheats here. But the expedition was cut short by the unfinished boundaries of the map. This is a ghost town of a project, abandoned since 2019. Unless you are an archeologist of broken code, stay away. My spreadsheet remains incomplete, and I need a sedative.
