LOG START: SECTOR NIANTIC // EARTH-PRIME
Timestamp: 0800 Hours.
Location: The Real World (Gross).
Threat Level: Microtransactions detected.
I’ve intercepted a transmission regarding the Sustainability Week protocol. My Pokedex in this sector has been stagnant for three days, and the itch is starting to set in. I need that dopamine hit of a new registry entry. The intel promises "New Pokémon," which is the only reason I haven't tossed my communication device into a lake.
THE ANOMALY: SUSTAINABILITY WEEK
Unlike the structured, deterministic RNG of the GBA regions I usually frequent, this "Pokemon GO" sector operates on a chaotic, server-side schedule. It's a nightmare for completionists. There is no soft-resetting here. There are no save states.
The local fauna for this event seems to focus on the "Trash" and "Eco-friendly" archetypes. I'm seeing increased spawn rates for Grimer, Trubbish, and Ferroseed. From a Shiny Hunting perspective, this is a target-rich environment, but the mechanics are archaic. I miss the Hoenn region where Shiny hunting method: DexNav chaining works perfectly. Here? It's just brute force clicking. My thumb is cramping just thinking about it.
FIELD NOTE: The intel suggests the debut of a new species. If this is a regional exclusive or locked behind a Raid paywall, I am going to lose my mind. I have a spreadsheet row ready for this entry. Do not disappoint me.
CATCHABILITY & QOL ANALYSIS
This event triggers my fight-or-flight response. Why? Missable event warning! In a ROM, you "Save before entering the cave" to ensure capture. Here, if you miss the login window, that Pokedex slot stays empty for months. It creates a high-pressure environment that is antithetical to the zen of completing a Living Dex.
However, credit where it's due: Living Dex is possible without cheats. You just have to physically move your body to get it. It’s an inefficient grind compared to the Infinite Repel and Speed Up buttons I'm used to in advanced ROM hacks, but the data integrity is verified.
SUMMARY OF OPERATIONS
- New Entries: Confirmed. The serotonin release will be temporary but sufficient.
- Shiny Potential: High, specifically for Poison/Steel types.
- Mechanics: Standard "Catch X to receive Y" fetch quests. Rudimentary but effective.
I'm deploying my portable battery packs. I won't sleep until I've harvested enough Candy to evolve the new specimens instantly. 100% completion is the only option. Sleep is for casuals.
