MISSION LOG: TEMPORAL ANOMALY "FRIENDSHIP DAY"
Location: The Cloud Sector (Mobile Dimension)
Status: TIME-SENSITIVE
Explorer: DexHunter Ace (LVL. 100)
I don't usually deploy to the Mobile Dimension. The touch controls lack the tactile feedback of a Game Boy Advance SP, and the framerate fluctuates based on local cellular interference. However, Headquarters flagged a Collection Challenge in the "Friendship Day" sector, and my neurological need to see a progress bar hit 100% kicked in. I packed my portable charger and a hydration pack. Let's talk data.
THE ENCOUNTER TABLE
The biodiversity in this event is severely skewed. We are looking at a Grass-type outbreak. For a completionist, this is a double-edged sword. On one hand, filling the specific Grass-type slots in the Living Dex is trivial here. On the other, if you're looking for diversity, you're in the wrong biome. The spawn density is high, but the variety is locked to the event parameters.
FIELD NOTE: The shiny rate appears boosted for specific flora-based entities. My spreadsheet confirms a deviation from the standard 1/4096 (or 1/500 in this dimension) probability. Keep your eyes peeled.
THE COLLECTION CHALLENGE
This is the meat of the mission. A literal checklist. My heart rate elevated just looking at it. The objective is simple: capture specific specimens within the time window. Itโs a dopamine factory for people like me.
- Availability: The targets are everywhere. No RNG manipulation needed.
- Reward: XP and Medal progress. It feeds the addiction.
- Missables: Missable event warning! Save before entering the cave. Or in this case, ensure your battery is charged before the event timer expires. Once the clock hits the deadline, the Collection Challenge medal is permanently locked. That is a 0/10 mechanic for anxiety, but a 10/10 for urgency.
QUALITY OF LIFE & MECHANICS
I attempted to use my standard toolkit, but this region operates on strange physics. There is no physical "Link Cable" item, but the trade distance was temporarily increased (a digital Link Cable, if you will). Living Dex is possible without cheats within the confines of this event's pokedex slice, provided you have a partner unit nearby. The social requirement for the "Friendship" aspect is a hurdle for solo operatives like myself, but the XP multiplier makes it mathematically efficient to engage in diplomacy.
FINAL VERDICT
This isn't a full region. It's a tactical skirmish. 100% completion took me 3 hours. It lacks the depth of a Battle Frontier or the complexity of a ROM hack with custom ASM, but for a quick hit of "Number Go Up," it suffices. Just don't expect a post-game; once the event ends, the world reverts to its standard, grindy state.
